How does the player level work in regards to been matched up against other players, can players with higher levels go around ****ing up lower level players making it harder for them or isit all matched evenly? I don't know a whole lot about this game i just for some reason had the idea that people will be playing 24/7 to level up quick and more casually players who don't play every hour of the day will have a disadvantage.

As far as I am aware the open world missions etc are all PVE. They are not like MMO PvP servers where high level characters can gank etc.

In the PvP areans, there are different modes, some which are normalised so character level, gear level do not effect the gameplay, and some modes (Ironman) which does not normalise level/gear and so the higher level, better geared characters will be at an advantage.

So apart from Ironman mode, shouldn't be at any noticable disadvantage from level / gear

In standard PvP the players are scaled to be equal'ish.. high level players may have an advantage if they've unlocked extra abilities etc but nothing major. Certain PvP events etc though will be gear/level dependent so the better the weapon the better the damage etc.

Destiny favours skill though, so for instance if someone has a really good gun but is hitting you in the chest the damage will be just a fraction of what you do if hitting with head shots.

You're not going to have problems levelling if that's what you mean though and you can level whichever way you want ie quests, strikes, PvP.

At the start I will be getting to max lvl as quick as possible, gearing for the raids and also making sure I get my 100 points in pvp each week.

I've never played any MMO games so have never done 'raids' before. I like the sound of them on this game though. A game like WOW doesn't interest me i nthe slightest but 4-6 of my mates are buying Destiny so coupled with OCUK members I tihnk it will be easy enoguh to put some Fireteams together for raids and PVP matches.

As stated in the D3 thread I'm retiring that for now so I'll clear my friends list and re-add people for Destiny.

I'd love it if I could just keep everyone on and label them etc but there are too many on now so only want people on who are playing the game Im currently playing. Unless it's someone I sometimes play other things with.

I won't be playing any multiplayer game other than Destiny for quite a while so no point having 40 people on my list who don't have the game.

I've actively avoided MMOs as they are just a time/money drain that I'll happily avoid especially when the endgame is so far away on purpose.

Destiny doesn't feel as hardcore and it feels like its just a FPS with lite RPG mechanics. The only thing I really enjoyed in the beta was grouping up to take on some PvE mission, so I'm far more interested in raids and the like.

Got to admit that sneak peak at the Moon really sold me the game. If Bungie keep the content fresh and it doesn't feel like nickel and diming I think I'll probably have my main FPS game for a long time to come...

Shame about Diablo 3, it just came out at the wrong time for me

I'm still enjoying BF4 so I intend to play that and Destiny as and when. Also Driveclub when that arrives for my racing fix. I'm kind of sorted there for online gaming. Future SP stuff that interests me like The Order and Bloodborne will be bought, played and traded along the way but I see those 3 online games keeping me going for a while yet.
