*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

Got this game recently, enjoying it but have a question.

If I just want to solo the story mode and nothing else, what is the best way of keeping my level going up at the same rate as the quests?

I just finished the moon missions, I am level 9 and a bit, and Venus missions are starting from level 10. How can I boost my level from 9 to 10 relatively easily?

Bounties if you haven't done them already. Should get at least 2500 xp from them I think.

Do older missions on harder modes.

PvP...or have you opened up Patrol missions yet?

"Patrol" mode is best. Select it from "destination", land on planet, press touchpad, look for beacons, complete missions for exp. Doesn't matter which planet you choose.

Also, try and complete as many bounties per day as you can. You can acquire these from a NPC at the tower in the main section where you start. They give a tonne of experience.

Anyone around on PS4 and fancy giving the Nightfall Strike a whirl? I want to give it a try before it changes tomorrow :)

If you do, this weeks is the nexus. with 2 other guys you wanna stay at the top of the boss ie dont drop down, snipe the Minotaur below and a Minotaur spawns behind you to stop people from camping in the cave.

get 1 guy running blink to lead the Minotaur outside the cave and keep him busy, other 2 tool up with tons of solar rockets and blast nexus from up top.

I was level 20 before I left the moon, but I enjpy exploring etc.

Just do bountys, you'll level insanely fast.

I am doing some, the ones that I understand what they are anyway :D

Not interested in PVP at all here really, just wanna play the story then will sell the game I think. Not for me long term though I enjoy the story mode so far (a little simplistic for a single player game but I enjoy the gameplay anyway).

Do have the patrol missions.

I did try the patrol mode on the earth map, I landed, got a beacon, followed it and ran right into some level 8 mobs. I was level 4 at the time. You can imagine how that went :P

Is there a max range I can expect the enemies to be when I touch down? I don't want to spend time chasing a mission only to find some of the content is above my level. Also weird was that it said level 4 was fine on the destination selection screen.

Do older missions on harder modes.

I couldn't see a way to do older missions again, also not sure how to change the difficulty.

Oh yeah I forgot it was that strike, 2 of us did the weekly heroic version and it took us a while. I'd definitely want a full fire team to do the nightfall strike.

Gah, curse my luck. I've now got 4 legendary secondary weapons but no decent primaries. I think if Suros Regime dropped for me I'd go nuts. At least I'm near rep level 3 with New Monarchy so I'll buy myself something decent. :(

Guys, question;

I'm a level 26 Titan, have recently hit Vanguard Level 3. Any advice on what I should do in reference to;

A) continuing Pve bounties and increase vanguard level (any benefit now really?)
B) start ranking up Crucible bounties to access crucible armoury?
C) join a faction and build rep to access chosen faction armoury?

Obviously I'll be continuing with strikes, queens bounty etc. also either way.

i dont see any point going past lvl 3 vanguard
i dont see the point in buying any particular weapon for crucible as all armour/damage models are normalised to balance it out - not a great fan of crucible in its current state.

a faction is exactly the same as vanguard but look at all 3 if you decide to join 1 to see what guns they have on offer that you want. all 3 differ in what their armour boost your abilitys in too ie strength, itellect and discipline

You stick with Vanguard if a) you don't ever plan on playing crucible or b) you like free guaranteed legendaries for every rank up (mind you, I got a mote of light once >.<)

Although armor / dmg is normailsed, the weapon "skills" that unlock carry in to crucible, and some of them are really strong in PvP (like easier to aim whilst under fire etc.)

I am 5 crucible marks away from getting a new speeder :D Also got my eye on "The Swarm" machine gun from Vanguard vendor this week. It has good stats and perks imo, and void dmg is perfect for the raid.

I also have 1 cryptarch package at the postmaster to open tomorrow, you know, just in case Bungie forgets about them with the engram patch :)

Well I felt like I've had no luck in this game as I've not had a single legendary engram. Earlier, when patrolling Earth for a bounty I stumbled upon a loot chest containing 2 rare engrams and a legendary. 5 mins later, another loot chest with two rare engrams. I turn them in and then get levelled up to crypt arch level 3 and get another two engrams, and I've suddenly jumped from level 23 to almost 25.

It can be incredibly frustrating at times though!

It's only really armour I'm after from FWC. (match my blade dancer quite well with the speedy blink cool down ability) Ideally I want myself an exotic primary weapon and I have exotic gauntlets. I actually enjoy pvp more than the pve in this game so far.. But I'm yet to do a raid.
