***** The Official Division Thread *****

everybody knew this was going to happen.

They do it with every game. Build tech demo that looks amazing at E3 running on a mega PC, then bring a console game out that looks nothing like it.

Well i've been out for drinks with someone who works on the Division on one of the global teams all chipping in on putting the thing together, and he's told me that just like with Watch Dogs, all you saw in the E3 reveals was a 'target render' with a pc running what essentially amounts to a tech demo on rails that gives the impression of the final game.

.... the end result is an attempt to match that - and as you've seen with Watch Dogs, it fell short.

I expect nothing short of another disappointment with The Division if you expect something that looks like the E3 videos.

So it's you can't polish a turd twice then:(

I too suspect this game will flop hard.

Over the last few years I've become increasingly sceptical about games from certain devs and publishers. Games just cost too much these days for me to simply fall for the hype.

Fortunately, I didn't fall for any of the Watchdogs crap. The only reason it sold well was because there wasn't much else on offer.

I have the same fear for this as I do rainbow 6 siege ... both have so much potential to be amazing and the demos they've showed are unreal... but as said ubisoft have lost a lot of faith from people, in particular watch dogs which was just ridiculous...

This is why I can't understand all the hate that evolve is getting , they showed a demo at e3 and nothing has changed they have done exactly what they set out to do from the start, and the servers held up with no problems on launch which is great , no bugs in the game or anything it's really polished .. people are just never happy are they. Only thing with evolve though is progression system it should all be unlocked from the start , but that's just my opinion :)

The main issue people had with Evolve was the massive amount of day one DLC and what isn't covered with the season pass. The developers were quite open about it though but I guess day one DLC is always a touchy subject.

Either way they released what they had promised and in a working state which is completely different to Ubisoft who do not deliver what they promise and deliver non-working products.

They also started pushing people to pre-order to ensure you didnt lose the monster pre-order bonus because it would cost you more money if you didnt. Like if somehow they were doing us a favour...

Evolve perhaps doesnt deserve all the flak but like TF it had some puzzling hype from the media at last years E3 when really there still are massive questions regards its longetivity and what seem to be 'written-in' modes/maps

And then there was graphics parity talk to boot

EDIT: Indeed if you didnt know the publisher for Evolve most would guess Ubisoft as whats happened to it fits their MO

ps3ud0

I foresee this game being a disappointment. Not necessarily bad, it'll probably be decent, but it's not going to be the game they're trying to make it out to be.

Surely the reveal would have been running on a high end pc? And the latest videos are running on the xbox one right? Surely people don't expect it to look as good compared to the pc version?

They did the same with Watchdogs although I actually enjoyed that....:)

The thing with Watch Dogs was that they showed things which simply weren't true of the game, and I don't just mean the visuals. The 'car crash' scene in one of the demos they first showed off blew me away, the way NPCs reacted, Aiden helping out then taking out the enemies in a pretty slick manner. The actual game played nothing like that.

My legitimate concern is that once again, Ubisoft are staging demos that aren't accurately representing what the actual experience will be.

the issue people have with ubisoft is that they show these E3 demos with loads of effects on that never make it to release.

at the time of E3 2013 they were talking about this being a console only release. It wasn't until later they confirmed a PC version.

We all know that the E3 2013 stuff was running on a mega high end PC with everything on and the PS4 / XB1 release will look nothing like it. But the fact that we came to E3 2015 with a version closer to the release build with more stuff turned off confirmed what we all knew was going to a happen.

Ubisoft do this with every game, look at what happened to Far Cry.
