So anyone tried it solo? Is it as i feared like Destiny in that its just not possible to do everything unless you have a group of friends to join you.
You can do all the PvE stuff solo no problem, that's how I did a lot of it. The Dark Zone stuff is much easier with a group though, simply because lone players are an easier target for rogue agents. You can do it, but you just need to be more aware of what's around you.

I believe there has been talk/rumours of raid-style missions for end game activities, which would obviously require a group. There will be more than enough of us here playing it though so I don't think you'd have a problem finding a team if you need one.

also use in game match making for anything, never had a problem.

So unlike Destiny you can just play with random people. That would be fine, i struggle with Destiny have yet to do a single raid as no one in my friends list is ever playing when i am.

You can do it all solo, however, it is more enjoyable and less of a grind running around with friends.
I tried DZ solo and its good fun most of the time (people that want to be rogue can be avoided a lot of the time), problem you have is that you are really easy pickings at extraction zones so I probably had 50/50 chance of extracting due to playing solo.

The whole red bar for people with low health really doesnt help when you are solo - fair few times I died because people thought I was rogue...

PvE without the idea of repetition is ok for solo - just far more generic cover tactics are needed

The matchmaking in the Division weve seen is so far pretty much covers what Destiny now does - I dont know if it will be employed for end-game/raid stuff but its better integrated.

destiny match making only available in strikes, missing from patrol, story missions, daily missions, nightfalls and raids (pretty much everything)

no reason to solo dark zone, easy to use match making and had great fun with other players.

The amount of times I went rogue because an idiot in a team I was matched with was silly, rather play on my own and potentially find a team when I want to extract and jump in and out.

Can you matchmake PvE in the Division? I didnt even try/check as never considered what we had in the Beta worthwhile to team up if it wasnt with friends.

Yeah you can matchmake in the PvE, I did it for the mission. After we finished the mission we were still matched up which is pretty cool. I think there was also an option from the map to join another session in the PvE zone.

rogue issue another problem, need to tweak the system.

You can matchmake in PvE, just walk about with people doing stuff :)

in map, match making tab, you had 3 options to pick from.

There's a reason bungie doesn't provide match making for raids. Go and try and play Heists in GTA:Online and rely solely on matchmaking. 99.9% of the games you'll play will be absolute garbage. You get

1) Idiots who are just **** at the game and constantly die
2) Idiots who are just **** at the game and constantly die, but shout and scream at everybody else on the mic and blame everybody else for their mistakes, but never for their own.
3) Idiots who just drop out at the merest sign that this isn't going to be easy
4) Lack of numbers for the less profitable missions. You may want to do that activity because you haven't done it yet, or fancy repeating it, but if the community knows one gives the best loot, after a while that's all everybody wants to play and you just can't get the players together for anything else

Seriously its just horrible. THere's talking of The Division having 8 + man content. If they add matchmaking to it, you'll think it will be great, but it won't, unless you fluke a good group. Normal missions however will be fine. Its just run and shoot. But more complex stuff that requires teamwork like raids ? forget it !

I missed the beta for this. Is the general consensus that its worth getting?

I played destiny a lot at release but didn't bother with the expansion as I think I just got bored after admittedly 100's of hours.

It does look interesting and I have seen talk of an open beta for mid month (not sure if just a rumour). I also find the real world (ish) setting and weapons more appealing.

If its looking good then I'll pre-order and feel free to add me on PSN.

Thats me sold - enjoyed the beta, it was fun. Pre-ordered on PSN - gives me time to find some cheapo vouchers :)

the division lacking content,

I don't think most people worry about "volume" of content

Its more about "volume of QUALITY content"

No point having 300 random encounters, if every single one of them is a copy and paste job of the same 4 types but spread over the city as watchdogs did. That's just doing the same thing over and over again with a bit of running in between.

Will have to wait and see what this is like at launch and what the reviews say.
