***** The Official Division Thread *****

So what are everyone's early thoughts on this??

I canceled my pre order down to the graphical down grade and the icing on the cake of only ONE part of Brooklyn being unlocked and the rest coming ala bloody DLC.

thinking of leaving this for a year and waiting until the put the whole DLC package and game together in one bundle at the normal price aka "Destiny" lol :P

Don't recall ubisoft re-releasing games after a year with the season pass content included. Assasin's creed Unity is now £17 for PS4 / XB1 but with no season pass content. You may be waiting for something that never gets released.

Remember the decision to re-release Destiny with DLC included was pretty unusual. I don't expect to see many others follow the same change of heart mid way through a game's cycle.

That being said, I'm thoroughly enjoying it. The map is already so big that I don't think I'd want more of New York in the game. I'm already using fast travel to save me the long walk to places.

Wipe 20 times on hard. Do easy in 5 seconds.

I think it's just because we are so low level. We shouldn't really be selecting hard.

its also because your gear is crap. Once you start getting good weapons hard becomes more plausible. That being said, I very much think "hard" is designed for people going back to play it a second time and being over leveled. I don't think hard is designed for people who barely meet the level requirements which is the case for most the missions we are doing apart from the first 3 that open each part of the base of operations.

Unity doesnt have a season pass - Black Flag had the Jackdaw edition which was the game + season pass which I bought for £25 13 months after the game came out - Ubisoft titles are notorious for dropping price quickly...

ps3ud0

What level you at now Fr0dders?

16. I've done about a 3rd of the missions. Just did "Police Academy" mission which is absolutely crazy at the end, even on normal difficulty.

Anybody moaning the normal difficulty is too easy should wait until you get further through the game, it soon ramps up !

I have redeemed my codes for the Hazmat gear and National Guard stuff. Where the hell do I get these in-game?

in the base of operations. At the back of the ground floor. Go past the stairs to go up to the tech wing and he's on the back wall.

I'm already reading loads of complaints about the DZ from the usual "I just want to go in and get loot and leave" crowd and this irritates me. There will be other means of getting high end gear, such as crafting, hard mode missions, lucky drops, and hopefully raids. There are enough risk-free ways of getting gear, I sincerely hope that Ubisoft doesn't cater to these people and leaves the DZ as it is. It's a high risk area where you have to be on your toes and risk all your gear in order to get better stuff, and this is a brilliant concept.

What loads of people seem to be forgetting is that you can only lose what you pick up that session. Everything you have on you when you enter is 100% safe, people can not take that. You can not lose XP that you gained outside of the DZ, you can not lose cash that you got outside of the DZ and you can not lose gear that you got outside of the DZ.

The same applies to sessions. If you extract something, that's it, it's yours forever. You can not lose it next time you go in to the DZ, so the only stuff you can lose is what you gained that session.

It irritates me that people are wanting Ubisoft to tweak the DZ into a cuddly friendly place where we can all dance together and get loads of free loot. There is enough content outside of the DZ to keep people busy, so can they kindly keep their hands off the DZ?

I love it. I love that excitement of getting something nice, the tension of defending it until extraction, extracting it, and the relief of finally seeing that heli take it away. It's a tense and exciting area and that's exactly what it should be.

/Rant over.

Agreed.

The Dark Zone is pretty unique and its one of the main reasons why the Division is fun for so many people

I spent about 12 hours playing non stop yesterday in a massive session. My best loot came from vendors inside the base of operations or as loot drops from the end of missions.

I did go into the dark zone and I'm now DZ rank 10, but the loot in there was no better than the loot in the PVE game. You're not missing anything by not going in there if all your worried about is getting good guns.

There's no need to change it and cater to the babies who cry about getting bullied by the big boys in there. Get in a group, gear up and become the bullies yourself. Thats what the dark zone is about. If there was a dark zone with no PVP enabled, it would just be the same as using match making to get into a group in the PVE zone.

Trouble is, there are too many playing this game, and want what destiny had were the free roam multiplayer areas had PVP disabled.

Yep :D I loved the "buckle up, stuff is about to get real" .....5 secs later.... "Oh ****" haha

Edit: There should be a slogan for the DZ. "Make sure you have your big boy pants on"

Actually love that free roam is PVP enabled, it stops it from just being a boring grind, you have a lot more choices too make, is it safe too call in the chopper, are these players going too jump me, should I jump someone with some nice loot. And the trolling you can have, oh the delightful trolling.

Dear lord I'd forgotten what a cesspool Steam reviews are.

Gonna be next week before I get my PS4 copy :'( and I have two free evenings! Going to have to have a blast on PC for a bit.

Really enjoying this so far, and impressed with how well it's put together.
Going back at level 14 and doing the hospital mission on hard, was great to see that it scales with you and all the enemies were also level 14 :D. Means it's always going to be intresting replaying (cannot wait to see what challenge, mode will be like :D).

Do all the missions scale with your lvl if you re-run them on hard?

Im lvl16 at the mo, most of the side missions ive done solo, the main story missions where you get 500 or so units to upgrade your wings ive done duo or in a full team. Definitely recommend doing ALL of the main missions in a group, its mental chaotic fun, and like people say even on normal expect to die many times.

I got lucky and got a purple backpack pattern from somewhere, lvl17 item, ive yet to see a purple item drop for me, but i have 2 blue guns with blue addons which seem to work well.

Overall im loving the game, cant wait for the DLC, even though there is still so much to do.

Also i didnt realise but the safehouses give aload of mini missions and side missions around them to complete, which is a great source of xp and blueprints. So ive been steadily working through all of those.

Have failed a couple of the green side missions i need to redo, theres one in a water plant where you have to defend a pressure thing, didnt realise i had to then activate something else, while i had a ton of the flame dudes trying to roast me lol, need to redo that.

Also keep an eye out for the Riker guys, some of them have Shotguns, dont even let them get in range of you or they will pretty much one shot you ive found lol.
