***** The Official Division Thread *****

Im still level 17, had a really disappointing night last night, started at 17, rerun a mission on hard, didnt seem to get any xp for it at the end? :( Died a ton during the mission also, do you lose xp when you die? feels like i did.

Then wasted a lot of time in the DZ, ontop of that i kept getting disconnected which was massively frustrating.

I keep trying the matchmaking thing as i dont know many players to group with, the game definitely feels better in a group thats for sure. Sometimes though you can wait ages to get a group match up it seems.

Hopefully tonights a bit better, might just stick to doing side missions til i get to the level of the next main mission then group find that while grinding other bits.

Anyone else hit a bit of a wall?

You only get XP once per mission regardless of difficulty. I was the same, so I simply did a few encounters and let my friends carry me weak arse for a bit until I was strong enough to carry on :)

So, how's the week 1 review? Should hopefully get started next week.

I've been hearing good things about the depth of gameplay and teamwork required once you get into the higher difficulty level...?

All round seems like an excellent PvE game. There is a lot of depth, build diversity, and viable weapons that we never got on Destiny. The MMO elements are just right, more then enough status too play with, you can spec for a nice amount of build combos DPS/Tank/Tech. There is a bit less gun skill required but the end game stuff looks like it could be much harder then Destiny. Destiny I found killing things has never been tricky and its mostly just mechanics you have too learn, which is fun but once you learn them everything is easy.

Still early but overall I think they have learnt from Destiny and built a much better MMO/FPS hybrid. PVP I still think Destiny might have a slight lead cause its more straight forward, but the DZ is a blast and I can't wait too rock in at Lv30.

Ahh cool will just stick to side missions and then each main mission once then if thats the case, the encounters i will just skip for now i guess.

I do the encounters as well. You will occasionally run into phone recordings, echoes, crashed drones, etc. These are all worth a bit of XP as well, and you'd be losing out on loads by only doing the main stuff.

PVP in Density is completely different, and all the better for it. I'll still go back for some Banana because it's simply awesome fun with all my friends. I don't even care about ranks / loots / whatever, I just like hopping in and getting shot in the face with the people who choose to suck with me :p

Literally just tried extracting some loot from the dark zone (some crap rifle and an item of clothing) just to give it a go. Was counting down for the chopper. In the last 30 seconds to go, I got ganked by 4 other players. All for a measly police rifle and beanie. is this really peoples mentality in the DZ? Or am I doing it wrong?

Edit. For clarification. It was quite funny :p thinking they'd scored some epic stuff. What I was trying to get at is it seems its every man for himself right? In guessing you don't find many "decent" players that'll allow to extract your stuff

so after ignoring all the beta's and pre-release build up to this it wasn't on my radar, then I started reading a few reviews I watched a couple of streams and ended up picking it up this morning. got it home and thought I could have a couple of hours before work and a 2.5GB patch was needed.... did manage to get about 30-40 mins on the game (although its registered 1h40 for some reason, im guessing as I had to go pick the wife up just as the patch finished and I was on the character creator screen)

first impressions are very good though, had a few horrid pop-ins with the landscape but nothing that would ruin the game for me.

only got to level 3 so not even scratched the surface yet but for some reason when I tried to play with a friend for a short period I neither of us could hear the mic chat... this could be something I disabled when playing online FPS games like COD etc... but I don't remember doing so.

if I get a month out of it it will be a success as it will tide me over till dark souls 3 arrives.

Does anyone else randomly find themselves running in to groups of enemies ? I decided to follow some Missing Agnet side mission, started to go down into the subway, turn the corner to walk in to the hands of two purple and one yellow ranke Cleaners. I have no chance, I turned and ran for my life, tired to regroup and counter attack.

I'm not complaining, it's fun and tough.

Cleaners hate the rolling homing mine. :D they always spot it and cack themselves :D rioters are so stupid they don't even see it coming.

Running atm with a m60 belt fed lmg. And a high powered marksman rifle (DSR?)

Rather liking lmg's. And support.

Still pretty much unable to play this, just keeps locking up every 10-15mins.

Now getting a "Delta division servers unavailable" or something to that effect.

Definitely not the Xbox as can play battlefront for hours without any issue. Might try reinstalling the division, but at 20GB odd might take a while to d/l.

Pretty poor show from Ubisoft.
