There's plenty for a solo gamer, I played the Alpha completely solo. It's just that the experience will be enhanced with friends, not that it won't be very good solo.

You will get a code straight away, then you need to use that code to sign up for beta on Division website. This links your Psn/live account. I'm guessing Ubi then email a code for either store closer to the time.

When you say got they key, did you get emailed the 'promotional code' from Amazon and the retrieved the beta code from the website?

I'm still getting 'invalid code' but think this may be due to me entering a promotional code into the beta code box. It's a little confusing.

Yes but only as @Dredd kindly gave me a spare key he had.

Pretty annoying as the key showed as not valid and the support ticket refused to get logged on the Uplay site. It seems a few people ordering from Amazon have this issue.
