I find Peter Moores statement about the top 5 selling of last gen was the 3 GTA's and Halo 1 and 2 interesting. GTA sold on average 5 as much on the PS2 than the Xbox so shouldnt that be GTA was the biggest selling games of last gen on the PS2? Its only no 5 in xbox games sales, behind the Halos, splinter cell and fable. Behind GTA series the last gen sales is GT3 A-spec with nearly twice the sales of Halo 2, then its GT4 with 500k more than Halo 2. Im not counting hand held games sold just home console games.
 
I can see what MS were trying to do. It was an industry leader conference, show casing the great games that are due out this year and not reacting to the Sony price drop or looking ahead and moving focus from 'this' holiday.

But I agree it lacked all the wow factor of last years E3; in fact most of the games are the same and it didn't actually feel like it offered anything new. And at 5:45 I was severely wondering why the hell I'd gotten up to watch it.

However, the games did look great. Lost Odyssey, Bioshock, PGR4, Halo 3, Assassins Creed, COD4 and Mass Effect all stood out and it was good to hear how we'll be playing them all before 2008.

Kudos also has to be given for the amount of actual gameplay shown with almost all games being played on stage; I wonder if MGS4 will be gameplay or CGI?

As a showcase of games 9/10, as an exhibition 4/10.
 
I'm just watching the re-run now as I fell asleep just at the beginning lol (first night off after shift :()

yes about GTA but you have to remember A) there was crossover in console ownership B) GTA was on ps2 exclusive for at least 6 months .

It was released a lot, lot later on Xbox than Playstation.

The point i was trying to make is that no one doubts that GTA was the biggest franchise of the last gen. Halo 1 and 2 was not the in the top 5 biggest games of last year, it was Gran Toursimo 3 and 4 and the 3 GTA games.

Not sure about GT, tbh i dont know what he's trying to say lets just be glad that GTA and Halo are on 360 :D

I always thought Halo outsold Gran Turismo though, I'm sure I saw it somewhere when researching one of my University projects this year.

Edited version Top 10(only using Total sales worldwide) In order but with no Hand held or pre last gen consoles ie PS1 games.

I thought it was obvious he was talking about sales in America, since madden was one of the big hitters and since the xbox is stil level pegging with the wii, obviously it has been overtaken by the wii in the rest of the world.
 
GT3 out sold Halo 2 in the US by a million units. GT3 sold 7.11 million in the US and Halo 2 sold 6.11 million. Not bad numbers for Halo 2 at all, seems like the Americans like their Halo!
 
I didnt like assasins creed, it looked to glitchy and clumsy, the gameplay wasnt smooth enough. Dont know why they added that stupid thing where you bumpinto people, it just looks like it will be a novelty the first few times then it will eventually jusy annoy you.

I love it how she said it was very realistic as she was fighting a bunch of guys, then the AI acted like a 1970's martial arts movie. They only attacked one at a time, I mean wtf is that all about. If theres 4 of you and one of them you dont just que up to fight. Sounds like yet another example of Ubisoft not delivering on their promises again.
 
One thing I didn't like in Assassins Creed is the way people seem to glow when you highlight them. I hope that makes sense.

I agree about the fighting, looks annoying that they queue up to fight.

Other than that it looked great!
