I'll give Microsoft their dues at least they gave a price and date. Lots of games on show but I wasn't really blown away. Ryse looked cool but watching it I straight away thought "God Of War rip".

With Sony having the later showing they can really capitalize on the info Microsoft have shown. If Sony offer the PS4 at a cheaper price and (unlike Microsoft) mention DRM (ala second hand games etc as Microsoft didn't touch on that) along with a solid game line up they could do well from this.

Thief did look extremely awesome though !
 
I couldn't care less about 1080p. Most of those games looked stunning, if it's 1080p, 720p or 869p...I don't mind. I wouldn't have known some of the last gen games were 560p (or whatever it was) if it wasn't for the media moaning. Visual quality is about so much more then just resolution. It's the same as the camera mega pixel war.

Fair enough, but just drawing comparison on multi plats, possibly being 720p vs 1080p.

Casuals love it. People were too sore from the anal pounding Street Fighter/King of Fighters gave them. :p

I'm just shocked how badly the games rip off Street Fighter though. Not in the fact it is a 2d fighter, but because it just copied the moves and characters and renamed them. :eek:

Yes inflation might make costs increase, but salaries aren't increasing to match, so in real terms the One is more expensive.

Salaries are increasing but yours isn't... that's different to what you're saying because everybody in our company (3500+ nationwide) have had pay increases each year.

So actually the One is cheaper if you factor in the Kinect, mid market exchange rate differences and inflation since the 360 release. I think the price is pretty fair for it overall. Whether or not the Kinect is wanted and/or needed is another matter but for what you're getting the price is fair compared to the 360.

Did the ryse graphics remind anyone a little of the graphics from Deep Down on the ps4? Those to me stood out as the most next gen graphics wise and i'm curious if well see more footage from that in the ps conference.
 
I think its fair to say for most people its going to be one or ther other, rather than buying both.

I had considered it before price announcement, but no way can i justify spending £1200+ on new consoles. When you factor in a couple of games for each platform + live.

Yeah I'll do one at launch and one a year later I think. Before that it was PS4 for first but One has leapfrogged it now, excited to see what Sony show us though. I want to see more of InFamous 3.
