*** The Official E3 2015 Thread ***

You have to remember that's a carefully planned and choreographed demo though. Not saying the game won't have that level of interaction when it comes to release, but it's easy for them to showcase features for a reveal

I'm sure most will have some kind of downgrade before launch. Hopefully we can see these levels of environmental interaction in games as for me it's one of the things that has been lacking. It's all good and well having a stunning game but with minimal interaction it all feels a bit stale.

Whoever is presenting the square enix one tonight at the start will probably walk on grinning ear to ear.

Uncharted finally gave me that wow factor that has been missing in the 'next' gen consoles so far. Literally wow that looks amazing.

Can't wait to play this.. Oh and Battlefront looks really nice.. And Doom, and Fallout...

To many games for me tbh, 1 or 2 great games per year is enough for me.. If their wasn't enough games at E3 for you, what is wrong with you people? Don't you do anything else... I'm just jealous because will never get to play them all :p

Have a think about what was shown - its an incredible vertical slice that no doubt wouldnt just eat up resources anyway so its not like a tiny area thats super detailed because its tiny...

To only question to me was if that was on an actual PS4 or PS4 target...

The Fallout 4 mods are not coming at launch. There will be the content creation kit on PC in early 2016. A bit further down the line mods will be available on Xbone. Then further down the line mods on PS4.

I can't see mods on console being any good, there is just far too much complexity when it comes to modding Bethesda games. For starters the games are always a buggy mess that crash when it's just the vanilla game, throw in mods the game becomes even more unstable.

You have the limited power of the consoles and the inability to not run your own code (e.g. Fallout/Skyrim/Oblivion Script Extender, which is needed for many PC mods within Bethesda games). The console manufacturers/Bethesda are going to want to approve every mod so that it doesn't break anything and also to moderate their content (e.g so you don't have kids downloading dongs etc.)

You've also got the issues of mod compatibility and load order problems, you just have to look at steam workshop to see what a console based version of it would turn out like and people hate it currently on PC for these very reasons.

If it's this complicated on PC where you can do as you want, I just don't see it working on console where you're limited in what you can do in both processing power and not being able to run unsigned code, all I can see this as is the follow up from the paid modding screw up that was a few weeks ago where they showed a severe lack of understanding for the Bethesda modding community.

The mods are going to be curated - I very much doubt we will see anything that improves assets

Its a nice thing to announce, just probably isnt anywhere impactful when you think about it - PC is still the place to be for mods...

Hell its a Gamebryo-engined Bethesda game - its buggy pretty much all its lifetime :p

I can't see mod authors wasting their time to do anything worthwhile other then simple mods like new weapons or horse armour type DLC that were in Oblivion.

I just really cannot see it being anything big like some people seem to think it's going to be. The base game is going to struggle to do 1080p60 as it is, never mind adding in extra scripts and textures to load/render.

Does exclusive content and timed DLC really make a big difference?

Sony now have COD timed DLC along with Destiny and Assassins Creed. Those 3 games will be fairly high on peoples wishlists.

Does MS still have the legends deal on FIFA UT?

Exactly. They didn't need to shell out a penny. In less than 10 hours, the £2 million is raised.

It was $2 million and the game will cost a lot more than that, I'm not sure why it was a kickstarter either to gauge interest or some other marketing idea I guess.

You could probably see 'unofficial' quests - ultimately I see this as PC modders just doing their normal thing (will Bethesda bring back paid mods through Steam after what happened? Presume theyd fix the percentages) and Bethesda will decide what works on console. To me I guess things like new/modified quests probably seem the easiest, most useful things to bring over.

This could be the (ugly) case of PC gamers paying for things console owners wont. Its an interesting idea not sure how well it will be executed - its a tough ask tbh.

It makes me laugh how some people are so bothered about who "wins" E3. The Xbox has some great games coming out for it. The PS4 has some great games coming out for it. Who won? We did, the people who will actually play those games.

Exactly how I feel, unfortunately some people spend more time arguing about games than playing them. Both the MS and Sony conferences were amazing and lots to look forward to.

I feel confident to say that they will at least try to bring it back, two of the major issues were that skyrim modding had already been established for going on 4 years now and a lot of mods rely on certain mods to work such as SKSE and SkyUI (SkyUI being one of the paid for mods), also the ridiculous percentages didn't help either (70% Bethesda, 20% steam and 10% to the mod author). A lot of people also felt that Bethesda were double dipping due to people already paying them full price for the game and they would also be making more money through sales due to people buying Skyrim on PC for mods.

Other issues being:
-Since you're paying money mod authors have a duty to keep their paid mod up to date and working with new patch releases
-Mod authors all co-operate and collaborate with each other in the community and when money becomes involved that will stop or happen a lot less frequently
-Peoples work was being stolen off the Skyrim Nexus and uploaded to the workshop to be sold for a profit when it was free on the Nexus and steam wouldn't do anything about it
-The ****** up percentages (as mentioned above)

The entire reason they're trying to include modding support on consoles will be driven by the fact Bethesda sees $$$. The types of mods you will see will be stuff like 99p for a new weapons or £1.99 for a new armour set, it doesn't sit well as paid DLC so it won't work with mods either.

When they come along and try to involve money into something that's worked just fine for 15-20+ years, it just doesn't sit well with both mods authors and users. Hell the modding community is the only reason Skyrim is still relevant in 2015, otherwise everyone would have played and forgotten about it 2 years ago.
