***The Official E4300 Overclocking Thread***

Ordered one too! not shipping till tue though and got an exam then :(

Got a shiny new AWD9MAX and some 950mhz rated geil so should be fun...all i need now is a decent HS

Btw how many pc's do you own easy?! You seem to buy everything!!

May be looking at getting one of these myself for the dual V-sata although I think I will watch this thread for opinions before spending my money. (the mrs will have to be persueded lol)

Do most E6300 overclocks get limited by the max FSB of the board or the max speed of the CPU? If it's the max FSB of the board then I can see the value of the 4300, otherwise there'd be no point right?

I think the majority of the time it is motherboard fsb and ram that normally limits the end result of the E6300, hence why the E4300 appeals to me :D

Those 2 just contradicted each other

Surely if the FSB is limiting it, then why would the E4300 be better?

It has a 9x multi which means high clocks at less FSB

eg, 6300 7x 500 = 3.5ghz

4300 9x 445 = 4ghz

so a modest 400 FSB mobo clock would see you 3.6ghz

most C2D mobo's will do 400 mhz FSB without breaking a sweat.

Easyrider, what motherboard and ram are you planning on running this with ?

P.S - its your fault im upgrading to conroe btw as from when i posted saying i was going to get an fx60... damn you :D (o well it will be worth it)

So from the above post it clocks as well as an E6600, but with half the cache. So we can expect about a 16-17 sec SuperPi. Why would anyone buy anything else. I really don't understand Intel's marketing.
