I doubt they will even have a true vote system, they do not have to do what these people say, they can over rule the comunity if they feel it's needed.
All the forum is is a view point. No contractual agreement to do anything.

I share your thoughts, Glaucus. Frontier are under no obligatoin to implement the ideas generated in the DDF, and I expect it will be much more along the lines of general development input and feedback, rather than detailed specifics.

Yeah but they wil be the 'voice' of the community. I said this when we were still in KS, being able to afford it did not make them representative. In fact I was pretty disappointed by the whole thing, given that everyone contributed. But I wasnt £40 disappointed.

I think Elite is going to have to start swinging over to hardcore (or should that be fidelity?) to differentiate it from SC. Long distance travel should be difficult until you can afford the better drives. The whole fun of Elite was the journey to being Elite and it wasnt handed to you on a platter. Anyway as someone else said, 2014 going to be a good gaming year.

My thoughts were that initial voting would be on fairly low impact decisions like design features on a ship, background music tracks while docked, layout of interfaces etc. I very much doubt forum members will have a say on major decisions such as how multiplayer/game saves will work.

Later down the line (e.g. a while after release) I expect DDF members can influence parts of the story and how certain game play features are tweaked or introduced but that will probably be it.

What I'm trying to say is, don't worry about what forums members say regarding how long it takes to travel across the galaxy. Frontier will be making those sorts of decisions on their own, even if there is a 200 page thread about it ;)

Cool :D have to say I don't miss working with OpenGL - some of the matrix stuff can be incredibly obscure in how it "should" work :| but at the same time kind of wish I had a better grasp of it.

Just got an email through with a link to submit my chosen commander & NPC name's. Dead boring and chose my own :) Also lists pledge upgrades, very tempted to just add a few more quid: only another £8 to get 2nd round beta or £18 to get boxed edition, it's all looks like a bargain :D

Did you pledge on the first day of the KS? Sounds like it's being done first come, first served in order of when you made your pledge.

Edit: F5, F5, F5.......

Think it was a few days into the Kickstarter before I pledged. No mention on Frontier's forums about it yet either:confused: Did pledge £42 to name a random in game character as well so possibly it's in order of pledge amount. At least I get emails from Elite D, still waiting for anything from Star Citizen:rolleyes:

I get more emails from SC than I do from E:D. Have you registered on the SC site?

Have to say, I jumped for joy when I heard about E:D and pledged instantly but I'm more excited about SC which I pledged for as an afterthought. From what I've seen so far, I have more faith in Chris Roberts than I do David Braben to deliver what they've promised.

Yep all registered and been in touch with their admin just waiting...... I'm far more excited by ED, SC will be good but ED should be more interesting.

Got the emails and added my commander name and npc one, just waiting on approval now.
Wonder how long it takes to find out if its ok or some one else has taken it?

One email already received, completed, and returned!

Couldn't afford to increase my pledge any more though... or buy any of those lovely (fairly expensive, I thought) "extras".
