Can't get my rift to work on this again, 0.6.0.1 runtime, cant remember how to setup the screen, primary, secondary, orientation etc. Doing it on monitor with x55 for now..
 
So for people who alreadu have Horizons apprently it's

To redeem a Steam key for Elite Dangerous (and Horizons, once it's released on Steam) please follow these steps:


Log into the Elite Dangerous store and go to your account dashboard.
Click on ‘Partner Keys’ and then click ‘Claim an Elite Dangerous’ key.
Log in to Steam and follow the prompts.
Click "Claim a key for Elite Dangerous".


You can now add this key to your Steam account as you would for any other game. Check out this guide for details.

Once you've done this, you should be automatically able to install Elite Dangerous or Elite Dangerous: Horizons via Steam and use the Steam Wallet to make in-game purchases here.

Please note: The key you generate will add your games to any Steam library but WILL NOT GRANT ACCESS TO ELITE: DANGEROUS without a registered Frontier account and a copy of the game. For this reason, please do not give your Steam key away to a friend! They won’t be able to play without having already bought the game from Steam or from Frontierstore.net.



OK, so I have Premium Beta, and I go to "partner Keys", but at the moment all there is is Elite Dangerous, no Horizons.

Oh well, I'm sure it will be sorted soon. But not the smoothest launch unfortunately.

It works for me but it is messed up. It is off center and black bar down the left I can get it to work but have to sit to the side and that isn't very comfortable. Others have said that setting a 1920x1080 75Hz custom res works but for some reason, I can't get that res and it tells me out of range on my Swift when I set custom :(

I do hope they get this working but now gonna try the 0.5 SDK again, as that worked flawless last time.
 
Too much hassle at the mo, screen is fine though. Really have to push on and make some progress, I've never bought my own ship..

How long does Horizons take to process btw? Just bought via the store, I caved in :D

I bought this on steam in the sale. Started steam tonight and it downloaded a 2.2gb update and then immediately started another 5.9gb update??

Seems a bit ott as I only have ed not horizons. Is it supposed to being doing this?
 
Yeah I'm only seeing ED on steam, load it and it brings up ED launcher as per normal except now I can choose between 32bit and 64bit -- no mention of horizons (despite preordering it -.-)
Game loads up and it's ver 1.5? Is that right? I thought Horizons was 2.0?
 
If you bought horizons on frontier's store, check downloadable products, run the installer. Just trying to get mine working now.

Got it, run the Horizons installer, then re-launch ED, the menu options should be blue now.
 
I don't think horizons is available on steam yet. I assumed the 2.2Gb update was to make ed compatible for horizons. Perhaps the 5.9Gb update is the 64 bit version?
 
I can't take these slow speeds anymore (0.2MB/s is shocking).

Is it worth downloading via Steam, as that seems to use the full line-speed, and then deleting the stand-alone installation? Also, would I be correct in assuming that the 12Gb Steam download includes both the 32-bit and 64-bit clients?

I don't have Horizons, just 1.5, so that isn't going to be a problem.
 
I had a large update, but going through the steam version of the game i have horizons. Lots of buildings on this planet but i have no buggy :( Looks amazing.

Must have been a while I forgot how to retract hardpoints..
 
Got in from work, updated launcher, Horizons downloaded in minutes and looked like it was absolutely maxing out my 150MB connection, I was expecting it to take a while lol :)
 
Downloaded new launcher and the 64bit client. Horizons is showing as ready to play. But when I click play the blue "Play" button goes a slightly different colour , disappears and then pops back. Meanwhile the game totally fails to launch.

I've validated the game files.

Any other ideas ?

Anything I think, you just need to fit a vehicle hanger bay and once fitted buy a vehicle to go in it, internal slots in outfitting, if you sort via module type they'll be at the top of the list.
 
I got Elite Dangerous on steam and then got Elite Dangerous: Horizons preorder from the developers site, in the partner key section I have one for Elite Dangerous and one for Elite Dangerous: Horizons. Can i give the Elite Dangerous one away or will it be linked to my account?
