The *Official* Eve Online Thread

Basically as far as I can understand :

1) With planetary interaction you'll be mining materials from planets.
2) Those materials will be used to build things, in this case POS towers, outposts etc.
3) planetary interaction not fully released
4) no ability to currently obtain these new materials
5) CCP left NPC sold pos modules on the market, cyno jammers etc.
6) these can be refined down into materials that should have been obtained from the not fully released planetary interation
7) this meant that with the right BPOs, also seeded you can build stuff vastly cheaper than before.
8) an outpost before was an investment of 10s of billions of ISK, the error with refining POS modules brought the price down to a few billion, using the new P.I materials to help build it.
9) doesn't take an economic professor to see that massive profits are possible here

So CCP have sabotaged their own release lol

They have since stopped all sell orders, so now legitimate buyers who need say a cyno jammer etc can't buy them, and there are probably loads of outposts constructing as we speak across the Eve cluster. They can't delete anything, they can't roll back, they just have to HTFU as they often like to say.

I may be misinformed on some points, and others may not be right, either way it's another massive dent in CCPs QA.

Thats pretty much spot on, I made a few iskies off it and bought faction modules for my golem and tengu :D

Alright, so I started the trial after many years of avoiding this game due to it being potentially far too addictive for me.

Anyway, I just got given that level 5 mission on my four day old character. The one with the uber amount of battleships and a +5 Implant worth 100mil as the reward.

Anyone capable of doing that mission? I've seen players helping out newbs with this bugged mission on the forum and enjoying it, so I figured I'd ask here to see if anyone is capable of doing it ;)

Here's a link to a post which has a lot more details about what's in the mission itself: http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1324987

I went in there three times with my little Destroyer, I managed to kill one Frigate before escaping by the skin of my teeth. I certainly didn't expect to see so many battleships attacking me this early into the game!

My myrm could tank it, but with the dps is has it would take a very long time.

EDIT: Strangely enough I think I got the email for this mission just before I quit tonight, will have to check when I start my gaming PC up again tomorrow.

Looks like I'll join later on and see what can be done then, although I know skills are very important it would still be a nice helping hand to get so much ISK this early I think.

You still missioning Rroff? If you are (and are still doing it in Gallente space) then I wouldn't mind tagging along to repair my standings.

I'm currently grinding level 1's but it's bloody mind numbing. I can bring along a Domi or fit out a Megathron for it.

I thought you were spending all your time in the WH.:)

Yeh I'm another for sorting Gallene standings hehe. Last few times I've gone through I've had to rush through before the navy shoot me! lol.

What's your standing at Floydy, mine is sitting at -4.75?

If it's close to -5 then train diplomacy just to bump you over it so the navy don't shoot you and you can tag along on missions with me if you want.

I think Rroff was on level 4 missions before he started in the WH so we'd get a bigger standing boost from fleeting up with him than grinding the lower levels I think.

Does anyone know how missions count towards storyline missions if you're in a fleet? For example if there were 2 people in a fleet missioning separately would they both get a storyline mission offered after they did 8 missions each?

They were -5.10, but trained up a bit of diplomacy and its around -4.8 now so I no longer get shot.

Read the thread about this *level 5* mission appearing for those doing level 1/2 missions. Definitely want a bit of that! Saw one guy on the eve forums got a Macherial Blueprint! (lucky soab!)

If you have got that mission offered Rroff, I'll be online after work :)
