With a win over Silvia Overeen gets the next title shot

So who's next now???

What are the judges problem with Edgar? 49-46, really?

I'm a big Edgar fan but Aldo controlled the majority of the fight imo, with the exception of the 4th round which I would give clearly to Edgar!
I don't think there is much to argue with the result tbh - just look at their faces after the fight and tell me the wrong guy got the "W"!!!!

I'd still prefer the judges to be told to score every round a draw unless one guy (or gal! ;)) clearly wins a round! I think there are too many judges out there that look at a round and think "well fighter (a) just shaded it so I'll give it to him" whereas his opponent might clearly control the next round (yet fall short of a 10-8 battering) and even though fighter (b) has been better over the two rounds, they would stand at one round apiece!

156 was a great event and some really good upsets.

As much as I was rooting for Edgar I knew Aldo would be too much for him and I couldn't argue against the decision.

I'm not a fan of Bigfoot Silva but this fight was all about who landed the first big shot. Overeem seemed content to toy around with Silva and paid the price... Anyone with that much weight behind them only needs to land one good shot and it's game over, it's what makes the HW division so exciting. It looked like Silva was going to dive in for the kill after the KO, fantastic to see some real passion in the octagon.

Evans was poor and Little Nog is nowhere near the top of the LHW pile.

Fitch getting 'outfitched' was beautiful to watch! :D

So glad Silva beat Reem, as Reem was being really cocky.

Hope Reem fights Dos Santos next.

This is the saving grace for the Silva win - JDS and Overeem both coming off a loss - should make a great striking match!

Just hope they make sure they have plenty of blood bags ringside for if Silva fights Cain again!

I was so pumped for that fight last year, now though it seems to have lost a bit of its luster.

Given how their last fights went, I can't help but think that the fight would look a lot like this:

Two of the most dynamic strikers in all of mixed martial arts will meet Aug. 3 as Anthony Pettis is dropping from lightweight to 145 pounds to challenge current champion Jose Aldo for the UFC featherweight title.

"Two of the baddest dudes in the fight business are going to fight at 145 pounds," said UFC president Dana White. "These guys are two of the most amazing, gravity-defying athletes in the sport. I am so pumped for this fight."

White said the company currently is seeking a venue for the as-yet-unannounced event and that sites in Texas, Chicago, Las Vegas and Rio de Janeiro are all under consideration. Aldo vs. Pettis is expected to headline the card.

ohh yes!!!

Great match-up! Cain has the cardio and skill set to make anyone look bad and gas though.

JDS takes it for me - with ease I should imagine.

Only just watched this. I gave it 48-47 Aldo. Aldo only just took the 3rd.

What the hell was the Rashad/Nog fight? Has Dana white said anything? It looked like he was sitting cage side at the start, but was gone by round 3.

It has to be Uriah that gets the KO.
That would be my guess as well.

I don't blame him; I was sitting on the edge of my seat at the start, but had gone to get a cup of tea and a toilet break by round 3.

He's basically come out and said that Rashad has lost his drive and needs to get it back asap!

Seems Rashad mentioned retirement after the Bones defeat and doesn't look as motivated as he once did!
