Dustin now has a well deserved title shot and I guess somewhat predictably Dana has suggested a rematch with Conor.

I don't see it happening though...

I hope to got we don't see a rematch, would like to see Poirier fight someone else...he deserves the title shot....Gaethje too.

Let Conor fight Masvidal if you want 'drama' and pantomime hype...for that BMF thing they made up, they both love that side of it.

Looking forward to Dustin fighting Olivier already.

Conor would get destroyed by anyone decent at welterweight given he's not exactly inspiring fear at lightweight these days either.

I watched the fight back in slow motion. I saw where Conor was putting his fingers in Poiriers gloves.

I don't really know why this is considered a trilogy fight as the only time Conor beat Poirier was at Featherweight.

I think if he fights Poirier again it'll be another hard fight. Conor seems to have nearly zero ground game. He's always attacking and not trying to get back up. He did better against Khabib Nurmagomedov in trying to get up.

I'm sure Dana White loves the insults and I'm sure he doesn't really care about the wife comments. He'll say he condemns it but that's BS. He knows it's a great way to hype up the 4th fight. That's what MMA is, showboating and insults to sell tickets. And McGregor isn't stupid, he knows that if he angers Poirier, that Poirier is more likely to agree to another match. McGregor might be washed up but he's still a box office certainty.

'UFC president Dana White also condemned McGregor’s comments both before and after the fight, before dropping a strong hint that the pair could meet for a fourth time when McGregor has recovered.

“I don’t like that, that’s not good,” said White. “Leave people’s families and wives and all that stuff out of it. Family has nothing to do with it.

“It sucks for it to end that way, it’s brutal, it’s not the way you want to see fights end. It’s a break of the lower tibia in his left shin and he will go into surgery tomorrow (Sunday).

“The fight didn’t get finished. We’ll see how this whole thing plays out. Who knows how long Conor is out? Poirier will do his thing until Conor is ready.

“Dustin Poirier will fight for the title (against lightweight champion Charles Oliveira) and when Conor is healed and ready to go, you do the rematch, I guess.”

So if Dustin wins the title Conor automatically gets a shot, just because he's Conor. He looked past it last night. And so graceful in defeat.
