Hi all. seeing as fifa 12 will now have club mode ie 11v11. who is up for creating a club/clan?

I can lead the way as i have experience in running a previous club from fifa 9-11 on the ps3 version.

We need a minimum of 20 active players for this to work so right now just testing the waters and see who is interested.

why 20? because we need backups as the chances of all of us being online at the same time is impossible so the more we get the more likely that when you come on their will be a few of us online.

Put your name down your Steam name and your Origin name(ia ssume this will be a origin game?)

here is a few links to the previous club i ran

Here are some rules you must obey:

  • You cant play in the same position every time. we will rotate postions meaning you will sometimes even play as a GK or a defender
  • Do not use the skill feature on fifa. only use it when your sure you can pull it off
  • Do not hog the ball. PASS PASS PASS as soon as you recieve it(Go and watch just one game from barcelona to understand the concept)
  • Play as a team. This is a team game. no lone wolf crap please.

If any of the above rules are broken repeatedly you will be kicked out of the club.

If we can get 20+ active members here we can get this moving forward.

Cheers. i will start

Never understood the appeal of controlling one player.

It might be fun in real life, but in a game aren't you subject to long periods of tedium waiting for the ball?

And when you do get it, you either pass it straight away or dribble it 10 yards.

I was sad that the only option for a 1v1 "standard" game in fifa 11 was a random head to head match, don't think I'll buy any more fifa games.

well if that is most peoples opinions about the mode i will just create a xbox 360 club as plenty of console guys love this game mode.

You shouldnt bash it without trying it

Can you explain more on how this works? I pre ordered Fifa 12 on the PC so might be interested but not if I have to use origin, I have steam though.

well its pretty simple. you control one player in the pitch and you play football just how you would in real life.

Like in real life, if your a CF but constantly go AWOL, when a winger delivers a cross on the box and your not their, you could have potentially scored the winning goal fom your team.

same goes for defenders. go awol and you will get punished.

Thats what makes this mode so special, the fact that all it takes is just one idiot in the team and it will cause everyone else to lose the game and get frustrated.

This is why i have implemented the rules above. to help force everyone to play as a team, keep in position and pass the ball as quick as you can. Trust me, once playing inn a organised team, this game mode is sooo much superior then 1v1 games

Isn't there a mmo game with this premise, Football Superstar I think.

Have you given it a go, what do you think of it, do you reccomend it.

I am up for this, so long as the club is well run. Not easy to find players that know how to find space and pass the ball and keep postion in defence. I have ran top clubs on ps3 as well. I think starting with 20 may be a bit ambitous in my experience best to build the club up slowly.

I can play anywhere apart from gk, but prefer a attacking midfeild/playmaker role.

Steam name is doomer666
orgin name is DO0M3R

This mode should add more longevity.

Play with a good group of players against another good group of players and you should have good games.

One concern would be the lag though. Are they going to be dedicated servers or p2p.

Awesome looking forward to it :) Forgot to mention i was also a good any player if you need one.

Yeh I understand that bit, but how does the rest work, do I need origin to play with or connect Fifa to steam or something, or would it work like Fifa Online, also who do you play against another human 11 team? what about leagues?

I'm up for it especially as I play possession and passing football in Fifa myself.

You will need a ea account to register your game to play online ofc. I am not sure if you actually need origin installed.

Basicly how clubs works is any club can play any other club, numbers can very between 2v2 or 11v11 or anywhere in between. Any postion not filled by human players a generic player is put in there place. If you have a any player he will controll all the non human postions or you can let the a.i control them for you. Assuming its the same as fifa 11, your own club has a lobby (in game) ever one whos playing will pick there postion and the captain will pick the formtion. When everyone is ready it will match you against another club.

Leagues are based on what region your club is based. Theres a uk league, euro leagues south american and so on. Then within each league theres divisions. When you play league games you are rewarded points for wins and you lose points for defeats. The more you win the more points you get and the higher division you will be in. The main goal of clubs is to get in the top divisions and number 1 in the top division by the end of a season, a season lasts 1 month.

Theres also a cup comp but its not as popular as the league games.

On top of this your club has a overall world ranking based on how many points your club has. The more points you have the harder it is to gain them and easier it is to lose them. So the be a top club you have to be pretty consistent.

Some other websites run more structured competions leagues and cups ect, but i dont know how popular this is on pc.

Its the most fun you can have on fifa imo. The joy of scoring the last minute winner, setting some one up with a great pass. Or the bad side when you make a mistake and it costs your team a goal or even the match. Theres always real reward and joy when your team play well together, weather it be defending a tight lead against a better team or tearing another team apart with great passing.

Your club often becomes like a real team your will have runs of games where the team is playing awesome scoring lots and creating lots. You also get runs where your team is playing bad, nothing is going for you and your losing games. You also buil a understanding with certain players and other players you will find hard to play with.

I'm in, sold my Xbox when I moved house and none of my friends own a PC.

Forum name: nick5466
Steam: nick5466
Origin: not got one but most likely nick5466

Is Origin simular to Steam, Ie you download and play or is it just a pre-order place and they post you a copy of the game??

It is similar to steam. If you buy the game through the post and you lose your dvd to re-install it, you can download it through origin as long as you activate the game with a genuine code. I'm pretty sure /:

Or you can purchase it where you download it through origin etc

I'm in.

Origin Id: Jambo-ista.

Well we have 5 so far by my count, how experienced are you guys at clubs or fifa. On fifa 10 i played 1on1 mostly. On fifa 11 played clubs managed well over a 1000 games.

Mendoza also seems to know what hes doing clubs wise.

I'm in. Will update this post when I work out what my bloody Origin name is - assuming it isn't calcio_di_rigore (which I've used on PS3 for both FIFA 10 and FIFA 11 and is mentioned as an existing identity in my Origin profile).

Played clubs in both - prefer playing RF or CF but happy anywhere but the rotation policy is fair enough.

My only gripe is: yes we don't want people never passing the ball but we also don't want people trying one-touch passing all the time unless it benefits the team.

Update: Steam: sweey, Origin: calcio_di_rigore

Yeah agree sometimes u can pass it 2 quick. If you have time and space on the ball its better to take your time wait for a team mate to make a run and pick him out, draw defenders towards you or run with the ball.

Been playing Fifa every year since Fifa international soccer on the Megadrive :D

I'm very much a pass and move kinda player I know when to quicken the pace or when to slow it down.
