*** The Official FIFA 13 Thread ***

Yup, it basically went down like this:

  • 'Hackers' were able to use the same method as they did in FUT 12 to get cheap hidden packs on web app, except now 12 rare players packs were obtained for free. Good players were kept, the bad packs were discarded for 15k.

  • Some people made millions of coins and had the best players which obviously showed up on the leaderboards.

  • EA caught wind of this and the designer of Ultimate Team tweeted banning of cheaters was imminent, which led to cheaters listing their best players for silly prices such as 200 BIN in order to try and decrease their leaderboard rankings.

  • So now many legit people are in possession of very valuable players also.
Don't think anything is official on the reset, however it would be good imo. Funny thing is, this web app hack was patched in FUT 12 but EA didn't have it fixed for FUT 13. :p

Lets be honest the webapp is just the same as FUT12s but with a lick of paint - it does amaze me that theyve somehow reopened exploits theyve already fixed previously.

It amazes me how much I actually hate EA, yet like a few of us 'idiots' Im still happy to throw money at FUT.

I work with a load of coders it doesn't surprise me in the slightest:p

Linkage for the above?

Hack originated maybe here and another forum: http://www.se7ensins.com/forums/threads/new-tamper-data-pack-glitch.786176/

Mid-way through the thread a "MrFifa" starts posting as well, his twitter is @Fut13CoinTree where he freely admits to doing it.

Tweet by the FUT designer:

Tyler Blair ‏@teebs33

Looking into cheating happening in webapp. Banhammer time? I think so.

--

Soon after that was posted, the trade pile, auction search etc went down on web app and later all of it was down.

--

And of course there are various posts in the FUT 13 forum bargain threads about people getting really cheap players or missing players for 250 bin due to autobuyers and all the rest of it.

Some people can't be trusted, ruin it for everybody. Just because something is there doesn't mean it's ok to steal it...

Its still down, looks like some people made a killing, i wonder what EA will do? I got crap players in my packs so i guess i wouldn't mind if the whole thing was reset, but on the other hand those who got decent players will feel hard done by.

The ppl using that pack glitch are idiots. EA can just look at the trading stats and see who was using it then ban them all. Why even bother doing it now when its useless?

I guess its good that they did it now though as EA can patch the server before full release.

It has to be reset because of the amount of Messi's and Ronaldo's that started flooding the market.

They are trading between accounts.

That is a genius hack tbh for one person but kids just can't keep how smart they are to themselves and have to brag about it.

Oh well I had nobody decent anyway roll on the reset!

I do think its a good thing it got hacked early on. EA can now rectify the situation & hopefully reset the web app.

What I can't understand is why EA didn't properly test the web app before releasing it to the general public.

Will this effect the sales in anyway, doubt it very much as most if us want Fifa 13 and enjoy it most of the time even if it will no doubt have a more severe handicap system than Fifa 12 did

Must have used an old branch of Fifa 12 web app to develop the new one then forgotten about the branches...

Will it affect sales? Well if you are so keen that you're going for early access then I suspect you'll buy the game anyway :p
