**** The Official Google Nexus 6P Thread ****

The compatibility thing isn't about not fast charging, it's about the potential damage it *could* cause to the charger/hub/phone due to using the wrong resistors in the cable.

I'm holding out for now as I'm not desperate for another cable - I'm hoping some decent ones will be available over here for a reasonable sum.

Someone mentioned an amp meter earlier, does anyone know which would be good for testing USB C? I'd be happy to test a few cables and make a few video's on my findings.

I *think* the Google guy is actually taking the cables apart and measuring the resistance somewhere rather than just measuring the amperage coming out.

Cheers. I think I will wait for some more reviews, and UK stock.

Got my replacement phone, it is exactly the same in terms of speakers! So I guess the message is not to worry about it.

Quick question..... Is there a way of blocking calls via the stock dialler, or do I have to use a 3rd party app for it??

EDIT: Accoring to web searches, this feature isn't available in stock Android - odd that it isn't, but hey ho.....

So this issue with the camera glass cracking is gaining traction, seeing it on more and more sites. Any ideas? Im wondering if its just the initial 32GB ones that went out first?

Ah, it turns out the Google guy was using a Chrome plugin on his pixel to test cables. You can do it via adb commands too by the looks of it:

I'm going to pick up a couple of cheap cables to test.

The cable I bought cheap from CPC (about £2.80 delivered) comes back with "[93758.271111] dwc3 f9200000.dwc3: Avail curr from USB = 500"

So that means its safe!

What are the benefits of it being at the bottom? Surely no different to being at the top, in fact there is a negative to being on the bottom. If you have a USB dock, then the headphones jack is not usable.

If I could make 1 change outside of making it smaller it would be putting the headphone at the bottom. When I put my phone into my pocket it feels more natural to do so with the the top going in first, and also easier too pull out that way, I pull it out with the right grip and phone unlocked already due too the finger print scanner.

It also removes the issue of having headphones cables hanging around, mine sometimes cover parts of the phone screen.

Also is it possible to get a quick charging USB A -> Type C cable, the normally cable with my laptop says its charging slowly. Or is it just the laptops USB? Its a USB 3.0port.

I got mine day today and I love it.

But all these design flaws makes me want to send it back.

I admit I am quite concerned about the build issues, which tbh I expected given that I work in manufacturing. Resources will be almost expended and the manufacturer will have to look elsewhere (sometimes cheaper alternatives) to continue their production runs to meet demand.

I previously mentioned two friends of mine ordering a 128GB model and a week ago and almost immediately getting shipping notices. They are colleagues of mine and one has already managed to scratch the rear of his device (alu model), the other has managed to dint the chamfered edge (to be expected tbh) and scratch the front panel near the top speaker.

All three of our models seem to exhibit heavy amounts of fingerprints on the main screen too - I thought the panels were coated? I'm still waiting for my dbrand skin and Spigen protector due on Wednesday as I admit - I'm getting a bit nervous.
