**** The Official Google Nexus 6P Thread ****

Heads up, MobileFun have listed the USB-C powerbank which supports 5v/3A on that line. It also has QC2.0 - Best of both worlds then.

I've requested one :)

How did you get on with this? It looks like YouTube reviewers are back on the cards, so I'm requesting one too, not sure how much luck I'll have.

I notice the USB C is 'In' though. The 'Out' does say 5V 3A though, so I assume we're good to go?

It comes with the USB to C cable that does the job yeah, the C IN is in only, but the cable converts the USB to C out for 3A.

Seems fine, though you can get the RAVPower cheaper, Aukey are releasing one cheaper too I think. Though this one is pretty high quality built. The Google USB to C cable included with the 6P is not Type-C Rapid charge compliant from the power banks it seems, using the Google cable in the 5v3A port on the bank showed it as "USB" port source, using the Xtorm cable shows it up as an AC source and shows as rapid charging.

It seems as though the short USB to C cable that comes with the 6P is for data transfer only and not for charging.

hmm hope thats not the case as I was planing on using the little one for charging in my car - will try it in the morning and see how much it charges on my 25min drive to work.

So it comes with an A to C cable, which I assume you use to charge the unit, but also you're saying out of the 5V3A this cable will give all 3A to the Nexus 6P?

Seemed to charge nearly as fast as the stock charger anyway, though it's worth noting that no 3rd party charger has yet to beat the stock mains charger for sheer speed yet, as that outputs 2.8A of current going by what one reddit user tested using Ampere (software approximation of current) whereas everything else was 2.5A or a bit lower in his tests. It does appear that the Xtorm powerbank is as close to the stock charger as you'd probably get so far. Not many others on the amrket though to compare against.

It comes with MicroUSB to C, and USB A to C cables in the box by the way, not just an A to C. The idea is you flip the C cable around when charging. Takes 4-5hrs to charge the bank from a 5v3A source.

i used the smaller cable on my PC to charge the 6p overnight and in the morning i was 36%

There seems to be a lot of variation between different phones. Having set up the second one to get round my mis-aligned glass coating problem, the newer phone has a weaker feeling vibration (but makes a louder humming sound when vibrating), a screen colour tint that's a little greener, but also less bright and with worse contrast of greys. Since the screen coating thing was bugging me, I'm happier with this device, but it's not perfect either....

All these weird things happening to devices. I might cancel my order. Huawei clearly can't build a good standard of phone. My nexus 4 from LG is still ok now 3 yrs on. Built to last

Yeah true but i never used a case and it's still here

It just means you never dropped it at the right angle to cause damage. Doesn't matter what a phone is made of, damage will occur if the right angle is hit on impact - On the other hand no damage at all will occur if you hit an off angle.

Pure physics it is.

I think any phone will have niggles if you look hard enough for them.

On my 6P the bit at the bottom, where the CE numbers are (that I didn't even notice until someone asked how bad they looked), the gap between it and the main body is slightly raised at one point, but it's only noticeable when the only light source is right in front of the phone - in my case the PC's monitor, and again that was only because someone mentioned asked what there's was like. I can't see it in daylight unless I hold it up to the sky.

Edit: am I worried about the glass 'visor' shattering? No, but I'll keep an eye open. It's going to be easy to sort given the widespread reports, but nobody here has reported an issue yet, and there's plenty of us with phone now.

Very happy graphite N6P owner here. Phone build quality seems really good. Back shows fingerprints, and the front does too but not as bad as my OnePlus did.

92% to 100% in about 20 mins using a £10 tesco car charger (which was surprisingly rated at 2A) with the little A to C cable that comes with the 6P. Was playing music via BT for duration Didnt show as "charging rapidly" - just charging but it shows the cable is more than capable of providing a decent charge rate.

Once you get close to 90% on all phones the charging current will drop, so that is to be expected for any charger as long as it's >1A.

Does anyone still find themselves looking at the end of the USB C connector as if to check you have it the right way round before you plug it in? I know it's not necessary, but it seems deeply ingrained.
