********* The Official GTA V (5) thread! *********

OK

I haven't played as long as you guys obviously but I'm still with Franklin he's broke into the house and stole the car with the other guy in it then my PS3 crashed :(

Now when i rebooted it's at 3.7% but I don't seem to have any missions

Do I just go back to the car dealership guy?

Sounds like you guys are having a blast....

I did visit my first freak though lol ;)

There was a side mission where someone was screaming stop thief so I ran him down and this guy came along and started saying "Did you see that ******** ****"

Didn't find any bag on him though not sure what to do.

Started shooting by mistake as well and got gunned down by some local punks.

In terms of driving physics, what are people's thoughts?

The more I play it, the more I like it. The car handling is incredibly fun, particularly in the fast sports cars. It's kind of twitchy, and they do slide a bit but you can easily control them, but it's just great fun weaving through traffic at high speed. This is coming from someone who LOVED the GTA IV driving mechanics.

Having said that, the motorbikes are a massive disappointment, as are the ATVs. You seem to stick to the motorbikes unless you properly smash into something, and they just completely stick to the road, which is a shame. Same goes for ATVs. I'd rather it was easy to fall off them, to make it more of a challenge.

The vehicle handling/physics are somewhere between Saints Row and GTA4 for me, and unfortunately I hated Saints Row and loved GTA4. Some cars are better than others but in most cases, they all feel far too twitchy and as if the wheels aren't actually touching the ground properly. Even 4WDs/SUVs seem to have far too much movement or are able to spin-out, it just doesn't feel right. Being able to take tight corners at speed might be useful but it also makes navigating small tracks and roads or weaving between cars painful because it's so much harder to just make small adjustments, it's very exaggerated. It's not consistent either; some big vehicles like vans will handle quite appropriately whereas others, like the articulated trucks, are just crap with ridiculous acceleration. Towing trailers isn't enjoyable either because again, it doesn't feel right.

I was quite looking forward to taking a 4x4 off-road but it's rather pointless because all the cars have massive amounts of grip off-road anyway. You don't need an ATV to go off into the hills when a family car can seemingly take on huge inclines and rocks with ease.

Something to look forward to seeing fixed by mods in the PC version I guess.

Im working my way through the missions but do the strangers/freaks missions stay or do they remove after a while?

I would like to complete the missions then go back and do all the question marks

This sums it up pretty well.

I'm being totally blonde and struggle some times to continue to the next part of a story.

Can anyone help? No idea what to look for or what to do next etc.

I've just had some dinner and logged on for another session to see a couple of you still playing! It must be 4am for you guys! Get some sleep :p

Shhh lol I do wonder how many hours worldwide this game has sucked from everybody already. :p

I just bought Los Santos Customs! Amazing thing to do, all upgrades are free :D I've put in about 10 hours today I think! Crazy!

I should probably slow down!

That's good to know!

By the way, the white tire sidewall writing on your Sabre Turbo picture, what option was that under? I've looked everywhere and can't find it. :p

Triathlon number 3, anyone done this yet?

I'm 20 minutes in still doing the cycling, still mashing the A button! 1st place is way too far ahead to catch.

Map shows i'm at checkpoint 58/121....

Stopped to cook a pizza :p

It took just over 28 minutes of mashing the A button, i won :D

Max out Franklin's stamina before doing this event or you will have no chance ;)

I love taking out convoys by parking my car in their path with 3 sticky bombs on the bonnet, then hiding and setting it off as it goes by, then mopping up survivor and driving off with the goods.... The freedom to do it however you want is great, and is what has been missing from previous gta games to a degree.

Convoys , where or is this mission related?

That's a great point which I forgot to mention, I was always really disappointed by how well the cars seem to handle off road. I was expecting the drives down dirt tracks to be a much more slippery affair! Which is a shame really.

He may just mean a line of cars that get lined up at traffic lights, or if you block them.

I love how car explosions cause a chain reaction much faster/easier than in previous GTAs.

Just googled it and it seems you can ambush military conveys and steel certain hardware , it sounds like it could be side quests?
