Android isn't locked down...the phones are but I wouldn't say it's locked down in the standard sense. If the bootloader is locked you can't root. I have a bunch of apps I use to make my life more useful when managing my phone so root is essential.

Expand a little Khaaan?
 
Could i just point out something here, most people put their phones in cases anyway so a case would completely change the "feel" of a phone.
I bet if you "felt" the SGS2 in a case you would not say that it felt flimsy.
I think that is a fair point to make.
 
Been watching the Engadget review again, on one of the vids at around 5/36 you see how much ram is in use and how much it has left. I still think I made the right call for ME in regards to my personnel choice between the sensation and the SGS2.
 
Yeah they are really both good phones to be fair its really just down to choice at the end of the day. I fancied a change from a HTC Desire so i went the other way.
