You have to front up money to run in the election. If you get enough votes you get the money back... if not then you lose your deposit.

Their primary goal is independence. And a Tory minority government, or Tory+ government, would fit with that nicely. The Tories won't mind doing English votes for English laws and Scottish votes for English laws, or similar, because it'll further damage Labour's chances and will benefit the Tories long term... and that leads to Scotch rule for the Scotch, so they'd be happy as well.
