So Carswell holds his seat, and UKIP retain their seat in parliament. Not by much, but UKIP will have something to show for the night at least.

If, as seems to be the case, Nigel loses in Thanet, will Carswell be the next leader of UKIP? That would be a very different party indeed.
 
Has Carswell had a stroke at some point? His mouth is oddly lopsided.

Good speech about the failures of our voting system, pity the BBC cut it off.
 
Meanwhile the next PM has just won his seat in Uxbridge.

Are there any websites keeping up to date with the constituency results? The BBC site is rubbish.
