**The Official iOS 4.2 Thread** (Both recent threads into one)

Been using the betas for a while, but the ATV updat finally turned video Airplay on.

Just done a quick blog post on it, but to sum up: I reckon AirPlay is as big an addition as multitasking. Controversial I know!

Hmm, updated my iPad from 4.2GM to official 4.2 last night and I still can't get Airplay to stream tunes to my Airport Express, which is hooked up to my amp. I get the little airplay icon, but I get no audio upon selecting it.

It's strange because iTunes streams straight to the airport express without issues.

It's a shame they've switched the orientation toggle switch to a mute switch... I used that switch everyday and it's a pain to have to go through the software to lock it now! Not that it is a huge pain to used the software to lock it, but it was nice and accessible previously. I hope they bring an update in so that you can get the option to choose what the switch does.

update on my iphone 3g2 went fine but something went fubar on the ipad update as am having to do a restore on the bloody thing

4.2 has bricked my connectivity to my work laptop which has Ubuntu 10.04 on it. My iP4 will still charge but I can no longer browse any folders. Anyone else experiencing similar issues?

The error I get is:

DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus)
EDIT: It's not just me :(

Hmmm I can no longer listen to music on my iPhone. It says it has no content on there even though yesterday before the update it had 300mb left of space with my music on, and even "without any content", it still has 300mb. So it's still on there, just it can't detect it :(

Edit - Would seem it's a common bug

Can someone explain how the tracking feature would work - as in how would you go about tracking it?

Finally they fixed the Calendar bug. Was sooo freaking annoying. They had multiple chances to fix it and I can't believe they missed it on all previous revisions.

Shocking by Apple. Was perfectly fine on the iPhone but somehow they missed the bug on the iPad.
