*** The Official iOS and iPadOS 26 Thread ***

Just put this on my daily driver - cause why not. Everything seems to be working great so far.

Quick tip. If you do install this, and it feels like the refresh rate is lagging ever so slightly, mine needed a reboot and that fixed it. (15 pro)

Using this on my daily driver 16 PM, other than a stuttering UI which a reboot doesn't fix, mainly the home screen, iOS 26 is working very well for a first beta.

I like what they are trying to do with liquid glass, but it needs to be toned down a bit. Apple has a lot of work to do on it by the time it's released.

Biggest improvement for me is wireless carplay on iOS 26 now works so much better and more reliably on my aftermarket pioneer head unit even on beta 1. On iOS 17 it was rock solid, never had a single disconnect, on 18 it's been a complete disaster. May connect and stay connected ok, but other times it would connect and then rapidly disconnect and reconnect in a second or two, could do that two to four times once the car was started and then it would be absolutely fine until the car is restarted.

So far it's been perfect, as they've been working on CarPlay for this release, they've finally fixed whatever was causing my issues. It would have only taken them a year to fix it by September.

Had to do a full restore - battery was stuck on 89%, even after a few hours use. It wasn’t right. A restore has fixed it. A bit of a pain but oh well.

While the animations on the home screen aren't fully smooth yet, mainly swiping between screens. It's a massive improvement over B1 on my 16 PM. Dev B1 was very good overall apart from really bad UI stuttering, I had no stability issues or crashes at all, and all apps I use regularly worked fine. Will see how B2 goes, won't be updating my Ultra 2 yet because I can't recover that if some goes badly wrong during an update. Will give it a few more betas once more bugs are worked out before I risk testing that one.

I'm just glad that in safari they’ve moved the + for a new tab back to the bottom from the top in B1, that got on my nerves.

Looks like a good upgrade to iOS but I do wish that Apple had maybe put a bit more effort into iOS 18 as it has felt very unfinished and buggy.

Looking forward to the features of iOS 26 as it adds a lot.

Not brave enough to stick it on my phone, I need it to be reliable.

Will have to settle for Tahoe on my Mac mini.

Installed Tahoe, gotta be honest, not a fan. It feels like a little fisher price in its design. Lots of elements have been increased in size which makes them feel like they are running on an iPad.

My gaze is wondering over to Windows.

I am concerned for iOS.

No problems installing on iPad. Was really quick to do which surprised me. More to fiddle about and see what’s new. I wish they had kept the initial Liquid Glass and ignored all the moaning Minnie’s who could have turned it off in accessibility options.

After the initial shock, it's not too bad. I'm sure it will grow on me. The convenience of macOS being in my preferred ecosystem is too strong a positive.

It will take some getting used to the mega rounded corners and enlarged buttons.

Look at it side by side with the old style..
