Is that it?

Shock horror, a phone released looks similar to another phone that's already out.

Would you prefer it if they put big antennas all over it, or some, or a kick out stand? Please explain.

I guess it is at least different from the normal iPhone with huge bezels.

But I'm utterly amazed at the price tag. How can anyone justify over a grand for a phone? It's getting out of hand now.

It actually makes the s8 look good value!

I dont know anyone with any phone who actually used the finger print stuff, other than the first 10 minutes of owning the phone.

Everyone has swipe patterns, a pin or nothing at all. Its nothing more than an expensive gimmick. :)

You're joking right?

I think I'm going to go for the 64GB X. I have only used about 100GB on my 256GB and most of that is photos - no idea how as I don't take many serious photos.

I'm just genuinely interested to know what you expect from it?

In all the initial previews of the device, the writers are utterly amazed at the screen.

Price has already been covered, it's an item we use all day every day.

Mrs. came to me this morning, and said, "why are there now 3 different iPhones, my Facebook is full of people who are confused, and being over dramatic" I lol'd

She has the 6S, and I offer her an upgrade the the X if she wanted one (she get all the expensive gear in our house), her response was "if you spend £1000 on a phone, not only will I leave you, I'll post naked photos of you on the internet" I once again lol'd

We then had an actual discussion, and other than the cost her main gripe was the lack of finger print reader, and we both agreed, why didn't they just put one on the back where the apple logo would be?

Needless to say, unless the price drops next year, she'll be on the 8S, or will it be 9, or XS? WHo the hell knows. :p

What? I unlock my phone every time with Touch ID. I also use it to pay with Google pay and one of its best uses for me is signing into online banking apps. No fiddly diddying about security codes and passwords.

But where do we stop with the price? How much will people pay for a phone? You can get a really good one for two or three hundred quid these days, so is it worth over a grand just to have the latest iPhone?

The iPhone X does look fairly nice to be fair (unlike the 8 which is the same as the last 3). But it's specs are lower than the s8, yet it's nearly twice the price.

The screen does look good, but it's lower resolution than the s8 and certainly looks no better.

iOS is a much smoother OS than Android is, comparing hardware specs is somewhat futile. You're paying for the full experience, not just the hardware.

Not to mention that the people considering giving Apple a grand for a phone probably own other Apple stuff which the S8 just will not play as friendly with. Can you even get Android SMS's through the Messages app on an Apple laptop?

Perhaps iPhone owners should go and troll in Android threads?

How is it an S8 knockoff exactly? I love unfounded sweeping statements like this.

Jesus someones emotionally defensive over the Iphone X ! lol - yeah I get you seem a fan - but the price is bonkers, it's an OLED phone, made from samsung screen parts, programmed by Apple.

I'm not fussed either way, and I get people debate it but, chill man, people will point out its flaws, its not flawless.

The removal of a fingerprint sensor is daft.

Should have made the apple symbol on the back touch ID.

Quick question, does anyone know if contract prices for the 7 have already dropped as low as they are likely to go for the next few months or if they will drop again when the 8 is available?

I'm just going to pick up a 7+ as cheap as I can and see what apple do next year in the hope they come to their senses price wise but I don't want to find that I lose a few hundred by not waiting a few weeks.

Fingerprint recognition is great, I use it on my ageing Nexus 5x and Huawei tablet, nobody I know would use anything else to unlock their devices unless it wasn't available.

Fingerprint recognition sucks balls on iPhone 6, annoys me and my mate. Much better 6S onwards where they improved it though.

There is basically no chance of this happening. Every generation has gotten progressively more expensive.
