Games will play, it won't be fantastic but I can get 60fps out of Eve Online when I play on my M1 MBA and @Rilot was quite impressed with WoW.

Computer should be turning up today. Is there any way to install Ventura straight from the off without having to go through the Monterey set up?

If you hold down the power button as you switch it on, you’ll get the options menu which will give you internet recovery. It might have an option to install Ventura from there.

American Truck Simulator supposedly runs on macOS

And Ventura properly supports some steering wheels now.

I use my old 2017 iMac in my office to rdp into my work laptop with a Asus 28" 4K display as a second monitor.

Seriously considering picking up a second hand M1 Mac mini and another Asus display to replace it.
