***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

Just received my 16GB Nexus 4 (some of you may remember how Google managed to send me the 8GB version...).

It's perfect, no marks, scratches, or anything (unlike the six iPhone 5s I have recently had).

An observation though, the display on this one is far better than the old one. No yellow tint at all, and colour saturation is far higher than the old one.

Weird, might explain the differences people are seeing then...

so when you say "...the old one", you mean your 8gb version? so theres possibly a problem with some of the screens?

I have noticed the same thing if I compare my (16gb) to the Demo unit in CPW, The screen on the demo unit looks yellowish (its 8GB btw) comapred to mine maybe a faulty batch.

Also I have a jittery front camera, anyone else having a similar issue? Probably a software bug

Is this Google starting to complete its back orders?

Im still waiting for mine, the status changed to "Pending" from the estimated date.

My eBay gel case just turned up (complete with unadvertised free screen protector), and it's just like I hoped, so hooray!

Edit: Screen protector isn't going to be a good fit, but meh.

They're shipping them as stock comes in, it seems.

I take back the perfect comment, by the way. In my morning daze I've missed out the fact that the soft-touch plastic near the volume button is actually dented (and the piece not clipped on properly).

I love playing these exchange games...

8 or 16??!!

As missed out on completing order on first batch have time to re-consider..

I was tempted with 16gb to be safe but..

current phone (albeit as crap phone not many apps!!) with music on it am using about 3gb of 16 gb card.

The first attraction to the Nexus 4 was the cheap price of 8gb.

I'm not into gaming so wont have many on there.

Anyone with 16gb installed apps, started using and still loads of space?

Anyone with 8gb running out of room?

Thanks

it all depends mate, only you can answer that, 8gb is fine for my mate at work, he does not use it for music or play games, more than you can ever need. for me, i like around 8gb of music, 2gb of pics and vids, and tbh i would have purchased a 32gb version had that been an option.

I've got the 16gb. Installed a lot of apps but nothing I'd consider excessive (had more on my iphone/last android phone), taken a few pics - again not really been anywhere to take what I'd consider a lot and my stats are:-

Total Space 12.92GB
Available: 7.58GB
Apps: 4.38GB
Pictures/Video: 142MB
Audio: 240KB

Glad I got the 16GB as when I go on hols I'd probs install an offline SatNav and copy a few GB of mp3s on there too. Would imagine the pics/vids to shoot up too.

anybody think its worth £400 i shall we hold out for the 279 from google play. will there be plenty of stock

It really depends how desperate you are. Is it worth spending £399 for something that normally sells for £279 if you wait for stock, my answer to that would always be no, whatever the product. Would £399 have been a reasonable price if that had actually been the price Google chose, probably yes but it’s not the price they set.

Then again it also depends on your wealth, if you’re a footballer on 100k a week then it probably doesn’t make much difference.

Mine currently:

I don't know why the audio bit is so low, data for Google Play Music is currently at 1.28GB. Must be taking it into account somewhere else.

the coboff that google gave about "no sd slots" is such BS. they could make a separate storage pool and have it as pure read only zone, and it be used for data storage only. video and music
