***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

One thing I forgot to mention as well was that I was very disappointed to see the 3.5mm jack at the top. My HOX was like this too but my phone before (Desire HD) had the MicroUSB and 3.5mm both at the bottom which made complete sense.

I find it awkward to put my phone in my pocket whilst listening to music when the port is at the top, and when I'm using it in the car it looks like a spaghetti monster with the USB coming out one end and the 3.5mm the other.

Yeah I much preferred that layout too, it makes so much more sense to have it on the bottom for both pocket use and lying on the desk.

First day out of the house and my N4 has picked up a small hairline scratch. Been extremely careful too, been in my hand or on the desk most of the time.

Are google ever going to bother selling these again. Seriously it can't take this long to build some more there must be something else going on. Either phone shops are moaning about pricing and trying to get google to stop selling or there were so many naff orders on day one they can't fulfill orders.

i made a separate topic about this. Google arent going to be releasing more stock in the uk till after Christmas at best, as the US hasn't even been given stock only the ability for customers to pre-order the phone, ie pay for it but not receive it until 3-4 weeks later...cheeky

So for example, i wanted to get the N4 as a Christmas gift but thats gone out the window so thinking of something else to get now for them.

Would a S3 be better than a N4 16gb???

So wierdly...my phone now decides to switch on and off.

Very strange.....

Could this be the most embarrasing situation ever? I am now thinking the battery was dead, and it took ages to charge, before I could switch the phone back on.

With my iPhone, when a charger was plugged in, the screen would come on to show it was charging. Should the N4 do this?

Slightly concerned there still may be an issue, but no real way to tell.

Just got all my credits back. N4 for £264, don't mind if I do Amex! :D

Yes, when my N4 ran out of juice in the car it showed a black screen with a white outline of a fairly large battery icon filling up.

Wow, those photos are great mekrel!

Thanks for the feedback smokedog.

Would a S3 be better than a N4 16gb???

In some ways yes and in other ways no.

Main advantages of the GS 3 over the N4:

- SD slot
- better 1080P recording
- audio overall

Main advantages of N4 over the GS 3:

- build
- better hardware
- nexus device so will get updates fast and be guaranteed to get them
- battery life (you need to do a few tweaks though but once those tweaks are done, the battery life seems to be amazing)

Screen is subjective, GS 3 screen is slightly larger, more saturated, better viewing angles and blacks are black where as the nexus 4 has more natural colours, sharper/clearer, much better whites.

for photos, it depends on the scenario, in some shots the nexus 4 comes out better where as in other shots the GS 3 comes out better.

Design and looks is subjective.

Software skins is subjective.

Yes, I've seen mine do it. Black screen with white battery symbol.

Oh well, there's definately an issue then, as it displayed nothing.....but now seems to be working fine. Will see if it does it again in the next week or so

Press power briefly, it should show a charging graphic.

Is that confirmed then?

I think we can all agree you won't get one before xmas, even if they get 'stock' before xmas like in america with shipping times and xmas so close it would be amazing if they got it to you before January.

But we can hope! :P

Personally I expect to see preorders on the 13th of Dec, thats the date o2's exclusivity deal ends (at least im pretty sure I read that somewhere in this thread)

And as I said in your separate topic, source?

You may well be right, and this does seem to be popular opinion. But it feels very much like rumor being stated as fact, unless you have a reliable source for this inside information?

if you read the thread about google play orders on XDA which is mostly american users commenting then that suggests people who placed orders on the recent nov 27th second launch day have either received them or have had shipping notices. so this sounds promising for stock levels. especially as theres still another 10 days until the 13th which is when im expecting the flood gates to open again her ein the uk.

fingers crossed anyway.
