Started again last night as SVER and managed to get level 7 in 2hours. Went for resuscitation and I didn't realise you get double points when you're defending if you are in/next to what you are protecting!
Whats the recommended upgrades then? Got 2 skill points doing nothing at the moment as I don't know what to go for! I went for the sight upgrade on machine gun as I prefer it over assault rifle. When can I get a silencer or is it assault rifle only? Is it worth going for upgrades in other areas other than primary weapons?

Sure especially athleticism options with upgraded stealth and the top tier one extra health , also with you being a sniper and all might be worth trying to carry a better side arm than pistol or atleast upgrade side arm rate fire and reload time .;)
 
Ok someone give me a good enough warrant to buy this game. I am hooked on MW2 I just can't seem to put it down but I want a change. The 200 + players that this game(MAG) says can be online in one map at anyone time , it seems a bit BS to me. Why has it not been done before then? even on a PC shooter?. surely it must lag with that amount of players , oh and and does it have a good upgrade and leveling system like MW2?

Yet to see ANY lag on any of the gameplay modes.

Believe me, this handles the 256 players superbly.



There is a skill tree system. You earn skill points which can be used in the skill tree of your choice, unlocking upgrades, new weapons, attachments etc.

Dunno, never played it. :p


Take me for example. I enjoy sniping, so all my points are being spent in the marksman tree. First 2 points were spent on a foregrip. This allowed me to make purchases in the next level of the tree so I bought a new rifle. And in the next stage a more powerful scope... and so on. :)

Sounds just like borderlands and I loved borderlands so I think I am going to rent this one and give it a go, cheers for the intel :D

There's no looting - one of Borderlands key mechanics. Nor are you fighting AI - it's real people. Skippi's comparing the "special ability" upgrade path in Borderlands with MAG. Not totally accurate but a rough idea.

I've given the game a good few hours but it really just isn't working for me! Gonna sell it on AVForums I think and put the money towards BF:BC2.

This game really shines when you team up with a good group of people who work as a team .
Give it a go again tomorrow and im happy to join up and see how many we can muster :D
What faction did you pick ?
Think i must have put in over 20 hours now and it replaced other shooters instantly got to admit have seen the frame rate drop when there is a lot going on , but trust me there is lots going on ;)
 
Played about 3hrs as Raven and now 3hrs SVER. Every game I've played has me running around following an objective but feeling like I get absolutely nowhere. The only way I get XP is by healing/reviving people but if I do this I don't get a chance to kill anyone and it gets boring quickly.

Might be beter in a group but I just can't see the point if I can't jump on at any time for a quick game. Just ends up me running around then dying then respawing and repeat.
 
Good games with Stella just now. Think I'm getting the hang of it again. Switching to a LMG certainly helped as there isn't much time for me to be fapping around trying to place my shots with a sniper rifle.

Have enough points to re-spec now. What does that do?

Re specing allows you to spend all the points you have collected all at one go so you could get to the top tiers for extra health . Its only worth it if you think you have made a complete mess and bought stuff you find useless .

I was thinking who in the right mind would buy advanced paratrooper that was until the last game of domination where i was constantly being shot down like a lead balloon :D
