The adjustment clicks nicely through the numbers and the plates marry up evenly. Setting 9 is so aggressive, I doubt I'll ever set it to that! I need to give it a few more shaves to see how I get on. First impressions, very satisfied with this old razor though.

I couldn't comment whether a DE razor would be suitable for detailing a beard, I can't see why not though. One thing is for sure though, DE would very likely clear up that razor burn issue you often get.

A brush will bring more benefit than anything, particularly if you're hacking at beard, regardless of foam/cream/gel. It will moisture and stand those hairs up. Be sure to leave the lather on for a few moments.

I've downloaded this app called Wish. It's a shopping app with flash deals. Most of it is cheap tat, but I notice there are a lot of DE razors, some as cheap as £1! For someone wanting to try DE out, it would be ideal!

I know this is for manly shaving..

But could any of you get recommend a nose hair trimmer please?

Never used to have a problem (or pulled the odd one out) but now I'm 35 and I need some mechanical help.

Cost isn't a huge issue, easy to use and something that will last if possible.

Thanks.

This is my second trimmer, it's the best out of the two, plus it's the best seller on Amazon

Any suggestions for a slightly more aggressive razor than the Feather AS-D2S?

Do you use feather blades in it? If you do and you still want more aggressive consider an adjustable like the Futur, or like I did, get a vintage adjustable. The fat tip and red tips are rated highly.

I've been DE shaving for a week or so now, my set up is Merkur 34C using a new Astra blade, and shaving every other day after a shower. I go WTG and XTG. The shave is pretty good, but certainly not 'baby smooth'. I try to keep the razor at about 30 degrees. Should I consider trying ATG, and risk the potential irritation that might cause (especially on my neck) or would it be worth trying feathers?
Or could it just be my technique? Over the course of about 8 shaves I have nicked myself once.
Improve technique and do atg. If done correctly you won't get any irritation.

For me, mach3/fusions defeat the object of DE, as they cause me irritation and ingrown hairs.

I'd say work on technique first, it should come good and you'll have spanking baby soft shaves in no time.
