This game is absolutely sensational.

Yes the combat has flaws, and the framerate is sloppy.

But the story, graphics, and cohesiveness of the world is something very special.

I've not finished it yet, but i'm pretty sure I'm on the last world, I am confident that this is the best story from a game I've played. The includes the likes of FF7, FF8, FF9, MGS, MGS2, KOTR, Shenmue, Hostile Waters, Ground Control and many others.

Save for the combat flaws it would be a 10, but with them a 9.

Yep, seems she likes an evil char from the looks of it. The moment completely took me by surprise lol
 
My first play through as a 100% paragon, male shepherd, played for approx 39 hours, level 49 in the end. I must say its the best game I have ever played, I was hooked, I've played nothing else since I picked it up on release day. Yes there a texture glitches, framerate issues. However I'm now looking on the positive side - its the first of a trilogy, they already have a solid base to work from now, they will most likely iron out as many of the bugs/framerate issues etc for the second installment, now theres the long wait for the 2nd one!

Now going to go through as a renegade female.

Will I still keep my current level, or will it reset if i choose a female?

You can have as many characters on the go as you want :)

Level and XP are tied to that character, though.
 
Hmm...dont know whether to choose shock trooper or commando as my advanced class for my soldier...decisions decisions......

Can anyone comment on the survivability of a commando/shock trooper soldier with colossus armor on the hardest difficulty?

If im going to die easily when i play insane i may just go with the shock trooper

Just finished this game.. must say WOW!

Best £39.99 I've spent in a long time, now I must go through again with an arrogant woman. :)

Also, acheivements in this game are real easy to get..
 
Finished my first run through earlier, took pretty much spot on 24 hours. I thought I'd done most of the side quests, but possibly not. Didn't think the actual main quest was very long tbh.

Might actually be the first game I've ever finished and played through again !

thought you might all like to know after 9hrs 30minutes im going to have to start my campaign again. Was taking it very slow, doing everything as i like to. Was doing the mission where u have to neutralise the colonists on feros and kill the thorian or whatever. I saved just after i got out of a lift, it also autosaved at this point too straight after. I ran out of nades so just ran to see how far i could get as i didnt want to kill the colonists.

Que me dying. Go to load, im in the elevator, activate elevator, load screen goes on forever :( 9hrs 30minutes THOROUGHLY wasted. And im the kind of stubborn idiot who can see myself NOT goin through it all again

*SO gutted and annoyed
 
You don't have to use nades on the colonists, if you get in close and use your melee attack, it knocks them out, doesn't kill them.

Unlucky about your save game :(

Don't you have more than one save to try, or are they all FUBARed?
 
Just have my save file and the auto save file, both load at the same point. I could spend my life running around inside a small elevator touching tali in odd ways
 
Just done the 'Captain Kirk' bit ;) and it would appear that I'm on the home stretch. Vanguards kick ass at these high levels. It's just a shame there never really feels like there are enough baddies around to waste during any one encounter. :(

I will also repeat what I've said before. The Auto Save frequency is utterly retarded, you really have to keep an eye on the last time you saved or you can end up retracing an awful lot of steps.
 
Meh dont know what to do, start again or steal a save game off someone. Know it'll do my head in points not being spent my way, in the early stages i did everything and im pretty sure my character is the best he could be....if he wasnt stuck in a bloody lift

Saving your game while in an elevator has been known to cause issues with the autosave system. For best results do not save your game while in an elevator. Save prior to entering the elevator or after exiting.

It is also recommended that users make use of more than one save slot when saving their game. This practice will ensure maximum enjoyment of the game and will provide some insulation against any save game issues encountered.

I was a vanguard, any other class enjoyable?
