i have finished it after about 27 hours play. Thoroughly enjoyed it and am even tempted to go for the full 1000 pts on this one even though it will take half of my lifetime :D
 
Just finished (twice) in order to see both endings. I know which one I prefer! ;) After playing this I think more games need to have there characters clenching fists in an exaggerated manner and looking well mean.

The final encounter(s) was annoying predictable, but hey it was still a good ride while it lasted.

Level 41, 22hrs and 91 saves... But I did leave most of the Citadel quests and many of the planet hopping quests incomplete. Time for a more thorough and slightly better ordered play through.

That and his pose at the end just before the superb credits roll in always make me chuckle. Have you seen Captain Anderson do his fist clenching at the end yet? :D
 
Started playing this last night, so far so good...

I was going to ask if I chose the right military civilization but I can't remember what I chose :D
 
Restarted my old soldier on hardcore because the voice of my female adept was bugging me. This time I'm ignoring the blurry lines and going pure renegade. :D

Anyone else get a kick out of seeing their old character re enter that first scene on the Normandy?
 
Yup you can but it seems you have to wait till the initial cutscene is over and then go into the options menu as it doesn't give you chance to change at the start/login screen. This makes me wonder if I will get the hardcore mode achievement that way because its not been set to it for the opening 2 mins. :confused:

thats what scares me, ill let you test it - if it works ill use my good soldier character for Insane :D
 
After finishing your Casual, or any play through, select new career and existing ID. Make sure to change the settings in the main menu, difficulty to Hardcore. WHEN YOU START THE GAME IN THE NORMANDY, CHANGE IT AGAIN TO HARD CORE! IF YOU LAND ON EDEN PRIME AND DIDN'T CHANGE IT, YOU WON'T GET THE ACHIEVEMENT!!!!!

is what most achievement guides seem to be saying. Not tried it myself yet though :)
 
It means you need to change the difficulty while on the Normandy, not once you're on Eden Prime. So in other words, as soon as you start the new game. :p
 
Thanks for that Haly. I changed my setting as soon as that first cutscene ended so hopefully that will get me the achievement plus the unlocks as I was still on the Normandy. I shall act as ginnea pig though and confirm it for sure if I can.

i can confirm that this does infact work for both hardcore and insane difficulties, gave me a bit of a fright trying it myself, started the game three times on my insane playthrough thinking i had done something wrong as it kept reverting to hardcore

anyhow, i love this game

yes it is very much christmas list worthy, of the flaws you will ignore them if you enjoyed kotor
 
so how do i start a new game with my character thats lv19? I dont see an option how to, which is quite annoying since my saves are borked and i want my character!
 
Hmmm well even though i promised myself no new games till i finish marvel alliance and kane and lynch...i popped over to Lakeside to get a new jacket...bought one cost me £10 :eek: but thats what you pay for designer labels:p. I found myself in a particular shop..cant mention names but im pretty sure you will be able to figure it out. Went to get a new elite wireless controllers as i smashed my other one in a fit of rage over Kane and Lynch the other night:(:p. Saw Mass effect there on the shelf, asked how much and decided to buy it. Traded in a few games for it so only paid £5 on top...now the question is whether i open it and play it or take it back for a refund....dunno if its the sort of game that would interest me although im thinking i might as well give it a go...i can still trade it in at a later date...

Hmmm dilemma lol
