*****THE OFFICIAL***** MASS EFFECT THREAD

Not usually an RPG fan, but liked Oblivion and I'm enjoying this so far. One thing I'm missing though. In Oblivion there's an arrow on the map telling you where to go for the currently active quest. Doesn't seem to be one for this, unless I'm being thick again?
Without being rude to you, but Oblivion is a game for idiots. there is nothing to decide or think about and there are no real consequences for anything that you do - it's all just given to you.

Ive got Star Wars Lego: The Complete Saga coming through my door probably today, is it any good. Im tempted to keep it for myself instead of a xmas present for my bro:p

I really like it, it's very well done and very funny at times. The only problem is the slight tearing on some levels but I can live with it. It has a two player online co-op mode which I'm looking forward to trying once I get my wireless network functioning again.

Paid more than I wanted to, but at least I've got it now. :)

If I don't post for a few weeks, you know why ;) :D

I gimped my char right at the start. I went and chose soldier, not realising that I could choose other professions such as a Vanguard, which is a combo of two skillsets.

I then gimped my Soldier by putting points into Charm and Intimidate, which I mis-read as Intimate :o Iirc Soldiers are pretty poor for these two skills, so having poured 4 points into those skills was a stupid decision.

I'm still getting used to the world around me, as it is huge! Got in to quite a few firefights last night and upon checking my character's stats, it seems he is veering towards a Renegade (evil) status from his actions instead of Paragon (good). I guess shooting a helpless guy when he was down wasn't a good move :p
If you are not happy with your decisions start again before you put more time into a gimped character. With this type of game I always end up rolling a few different characters to get the hang of it.

what class does everyone intend to go with??? i was thinking of going vanguard myself which is probably the most popular choice, its either that or a soldier or an infiltrator but they just dont sound as cool :p

Good luck to everyone who ordered and havent had theirs come through the post yet..... i know i will be ever so slightly ****** off if it doesn't come today

Kainz I wouldn't worry about "gimping" your character, putting points into charm and intimidate early is actually a good choice because combat is still pretty easy. It'll let you complete missions with higher paragon/renegade points and let you unlock parts of the story/complete missions you couldn't before. You'll have more than enough skill point to basically max out your skill trees, don't worry about it. If you're finding yourself getting worried, try letting it auto level you for a few levels.

As for film grain, I prefer it with it on :p
