*****THE OFFICIAL***** MASS EFFECT THREAD

Loving it so far, but I just got a disc read error :( my 360 doesn't appear to like being on its side at the moment...

Tired now...off work tomorrow so will get some hours in!

The cinematics, audio and voice work is exceptional...I think I'm gonna enjoy this!

picked my copy up when I finished work an hour or so ago :) looking forward to slapping it on and playing after I finish my brew :D

Played about 5 hours now. Loving it a lot. It does feel a lot like Kotor which is great!

One thing everyone must do it turn the Film Grain Effect OFF! It makes the game look much worse. With it off it is much better.

It's -3ºC outside, and I'm going for a 2 mile round-trip.

They'd better have put them out on the shelves.

Good tip! It does indeed look better.

I have been playing it for about 4.5 hours and its pretty damn good, the story is really nice.

After starting off with a male Soldier I decided to restart and made a female Infiltrator as it seemed like it could be slightly more interesting to play. What is everyone else playing as?

i hate this i'm stuck on a helpdesk till 08:00 so all i've got to cling to is this thread and numorous reviews and screen shots :mad::mad:

Well, I'm back. Empty handed :(

The peeps tried to be helpful, but no one had heard anything about it or knew if there was stock.

Looks like I'm heading into town at 9.

Meh, I needed the exercise :D

Going out when the shops open, I'll still get it earlier than if I'd ordered online, so I'm not too miffed :)

I'm still playing with film grain on. I'll have to remember to play with it off later today.

I played with it then decided to leave the grain effect on; I think it adds a certain something.

I've started with a custom male Vanguard and I've started to put a few points in charm.

The only thing distracting me so far is I keep expecting the narrator in the Codex to say "Incoming Transmission" and "That was an impressive ascent"... lol

I gimped my char right at the start. I went and chose soldier, not realising that I could choose other professions such as a Vanguard, which is a combo of two skillsets.

I then gimped my Soldier by putting points into Charm and Intimidate, which I mis-read as Intimate :o Iirc Soldiers are pretty poor for these two skills, so having poured 4 points into those skills was a stupid decision.

I'm still getting used to the world around me, as it is huge! Got in to quite a few firefights last night and upon checking my character's stats, it seems he is veering towards a Renegade (evil) status from his actions instead of Paragon (good). I guess shooting a helpless guy when he was down wasn't a good move :p

I've got some credit notes for a shop in town, going to pop out and pick it up at lunch. Looking forward to playing it but I'm working all day today, then tonight and then I'm out for most of tomorrow so I won't get a chance to play it until Sunday at the earliest. Bit annoyed but I thibnk I'll still go get a copy and keep it sealed up until I finish playing Star Wars Lego: The Complete Saga. I'm motoring through that nicely now.

Ive got Star Wars Lego: The Complete Saga coming through my door probably today, is it any good. Im tempted to keep it for myself instead of a xmas present for my bro:p

The best price for the standard edition is on the high street £34.97 at the little chubby chef's store. I am now gad my online order fell through otherwise I would not have discovered how cheap these guys are 360 games.

Only problem is that I am at work ... sigh.

Not usually an RPG fan, but liked Oblivion and I'm enjoying this so far. One thing I'm missing though. In Oblivion there's an arrow on the map telling you where to go for the currently active quest. Doesn't seem to be one for this, unless I'm being thick again?
