Nice pro is avilable at same time, starting at $899

Not surprising at all that no office.
Its an enterprise device so will allready have licenses.

Right, they couldn't bundle the only real reason left to use a Windows device with it, in a market they are desperate to gain share in. If you can't see Office not coming with the Pro as an issue when it comes with the cheaper one then I don't know what to say. Who cares if someone might already have a volume license, it's not like it's cost anything extra.

You are not seriously trying to compare a Pro with an iPad or anything Droid are you?

It's 336 with Tax.
We'll probably see it at 350 if we're lucky.

I'd love to see them make it for 325, that'll make it very good pricing.

Build quality aside, you have to be very aware that baytrail tablets are coming in at 300 quid.

Based on MS current price difference between UK and USA on the current Pro.

1.250391236306729

£359.0876095118899 for the Surface 2.

But that will be the lame 32GB model.

they will make it £399 ...
still great price and glad I didnt went for surface or me4000 ;)

Well, yeah. They are both tablets. Considering MS make Office they should be bundling it with all of their hardware products that can run it, since really it's all they've got left. I can see why they don't want to price it low because then it looks like a cheap product, but the value proposition isn't great at the moment.

The Surface Pro 2 is a high end ultrabook spec x86 device competing with things like MacBook air, not a £200 android thing.

Hmm, interesting. It looks like they've addressed the shortcomings of the original Surface Pro.
Did they say whether the stylus can now be stored within the device on the Pro 2 or is it still attached to the power socket?
