With VAT it comes to 260, so probably 300 quid.

Asus have been good with pricing and Windows 8 stuff.

No desktop software its win RT. it competes with ipad/android.
Want desktop software youll need surface pro, or one of the atom devices like asus t100

Nope. I have no idea what the % split is on the Windows App Store for x86/ARM/both apps. Would probably be worth finding out before committing to a platform.

Hmmm not a bad set of upgrades, shame they couldn't make the pro thinner or lighter, now wondering if I should give into my upgrade itch and sell my surface pro for a pro 2.

94% of apps are avilable on both.

True that's what a USB stick is for if I want to carry media (one of those nano USB memory stick). Now to read further into it, poke as much holes at it and convince myself NOT to buy it.

It's a cracking device, but I'd have a look at Baytrail tablets as they come, so you've got full X86 support.

There is little reason to make x86 exclusive apps for the store. Unless you were doing something very CPU specific such as an emulator.

By default when you make an app its compatible, it takes extra effort to make it incompatible.

Trouble is I wouldnt touch acer with a bargpole, asus im not keen on build qaulity. Which doesnt leave many. Dell and lenovo.

I haven't had any complaints with my Vivobook in terms of build quality.
Some Acer stuff isn't bad.
