The ARM-based tablets are 9.3mm (0.4 inches) thick - slightly less than the iPad 3 (9.4mm)
It's a larger 10.6" screen rather than the iPads 9.7" which could contribute to it being 676grams compared to the iPad 3 at 652grams. Not a particularly significant difference in weight I don't think, I doubt most people could even tell the difference.
I was thinking more of the top android tablets, which are around 1mm thinner and ~100g lighter, and with less of a difference in screen size...
And god knows whether any of those will be updated prior to this coming out, I think we'll be getting 1080p screens at the very least by the new Transformer.
Exactly.
The Pro is a tablet sized laptop, as opposed to a large phone. Its a very different device to pretty much anything in the 'tablet' market at the moment.
Its exactly what I have been waiting for to replace my laptop.
It's not too dissimilar to the Samsung Series 7 Slate, with updated hardware, but that wasn't overly popular. The question is was it unpopular because:
It was a bit unwieldy size/weight for a tablet?
It costs so damn much?
The battery life was terrible?
Windows 7 being awful with a touchscreen?
It probably was heavily down to Windows 7, which obviously Windows 8 fixes, but how much do the other points come into it.
I do like it as a product though, easily the more impressive of the two from a tech/geek point of view, but it's definitely a niche product though, even if executed perfectly, whilst it's the ARM one will be by far the bigger seller and I still think that looks disappointing.
