How's the screen?

Amazing. It as good as my Pro, possibly a tiny bit nicer. The pro has a great screen to start with.

The speakers are decent as well, very loud, sound is slightly cleaner then on the pro.

The new kickstand angle is perfect.

Metro app speed wise it seems as fast as my pro.

Even nicer then the pro. The new magnesium finish is very slightly grippy which helps.

I think that's the smart option. Being one of about 5 or 6 people who used the original as a daily driver my perspective will be somewhat unique compared to the general tech press. I'll probably do something, just the timing sucks a bit this year.

What's the power connector like?

Much easier to pull out due to the sharper triangle shape.

Indicator light is on the side now not the top, so you can always see it.

Magnet seems stronger also so its much easier to use overall.

Loads up Star Wars about 3 seconds faster than my 8.1 install (With Defender off) and in system properties set to "set for maximum performance"

And a decent few seconds faster with Halo.

In Benchmarks, the 2's 3-4 times faster!

Really want to place an order for the Pro 2 but I'm holding off due to the fact they haven't extended the student deals offer to the new tablets yet. Hoping it all goes online on launch day!

Are you for getting one....as I have been using the RT for about the same time now, still really liking it but would be interested in the Nokia one perhaps more.

POB, for 100 pound, would you say it's a worthwhile upgrade then?

I'm still in two minds, 8.1 with a slightly tweaked install seems fine, and I've just bought PowerDVD, it's handling my MKV's perfectly.

POB, sorry for yet another question, but hows the screen resolution on the Pro/2? I'm worried about how noticable downgrading from 300PPI to 208 will be.

I've not used an RT in ages (mine was stolen before I got the Pro)

But I really like the 2, its seems just as responsive as my Pro. (I think I will make a video comparing them)

There is no lag in anything. I know the RT has improved with new software upgrades, but it will only get worse when new apps & games start appearing.

The new kickstand is very stable when fully open which makes for better lap usage.

I can't remember the RT feeling this light or easy to hold.

Ultimately I would upgrade, but then I only decided to buy a Surface 2 after you told me to this morning
