Just to clarify for those that aren’t familiar with how the OCUK tournament race lobby works:
The tournament runs from 7:30pm – 9:30pm UK time each day (can update this if needed).
Which means if you enter the lobby at that time any races you partake in (there has to be at least one other person in there I think) counts towards your 16 race total. Whoever has the most points at the end of 16 races completed within that 2 hour time period is the winner - you can check the scoreboard between races and after it’s all over.
For example, ‘Bob’ joins at 7:30pm and does his 16 races one after the other and is done well before 9:30, his tournament is then over. As long as there was at least one other person in the room for him to compete against (as far as I know) he can complete his allotted 16 - the computer will take over the other characters if there aren’t 12 real players.
Let’s say ‘Bill’ arrives later at 8pm and runs 10 races, he then has to take a break at 8:45 but rejoins at 9pm to run his last 6 races, which is fine, as long as there’s someone in there to compete against.
You can join the OCUK race lobby outside of this time too, you’ll get a message that the tournament is closed but just go past that and join anyway and it’ll say something about you being able to take part in practice races – this is what some of us were doing last night.
I think it still shows your point total since you’ve been in there but there’s no actual tournament, you can just keep racing as long as you like, as long as there’s one other person in there to race against.
My advice is to get there a little before 7:30 if you can for a practice run or two, or at least while the majority of others are in there. As soon as 7:30 hits it’ll start counting everyone’s races towards the 16 tournament total. The risk in arriving later or after the majority of people have started is they’ll complete all their races and leave and you may only have 1 -2 people left to compete against – if any at all.
I think the point is just to try and arrange some semi-regular sessions ahead of time on here if possible so there’s a decent amount of us on there, even if it’s outside of the tournament time for some practice – we all need it to try and beat Nitefly for once.
I'll try and have a look if anyone's in there shortly before 7:30 and/or try later on in the evening too if I fancy a bit of practice while trailing half a mile behind you-know-who.
