*** The Official Nintendo Switch 2 ***

It's been about two years since I sold my switch 1. What are the best games that released during the last two years I should check out? I've got Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom on my list, but anything else I should try?

If you own the physical card do you also own the digital version?
Not if its a regular Game Card (like Mario Kart) where most of the data is on the card itself no

A lot of 'physical' Switch 2 games (many 3rd party ones) are "Game Key Cards" tho, where the card just holds the key/license to download and access the digital game, and they can be sold on. So Game Key Cards are good in that way I guess, in that you get a physical cart but play the digital version.

Super Mario Bros : Wonder, Pikmin 4, Paper Mario : The Thousand Year Door, Xenoblade Chronicles X ( and Princess Peach : Showtime ! - Noxia's GOTY ;) )

It's not officially compatible unfortunately.
Hmmm… that’s a bummer. I ordered a Pro Controller 2 on Friday. Mainly for playing Mario Kart World with the kids at the moment… as they’re using the new joycons, and I’m stuck with a Switch 1 joycon (despite my hands being 2x either of theirs!).

I hoped it would work with the old Switches too for things like Kirby etc. I suppose I can always ‘loan’ the digital games to the Switch 2 if we want to play 3 players.

If you have one Pro 2 controller and don’t want to use joy cons at home I would just get a bunch of Cyclone 2 controllers at half the price as the Pro 2.

Seeing a few videos of joycon drifts already including out of the box. Nintendo are such cheapskates.
Sad to see and really is poor by Nintendo to allow it to occur again.

On another note I’m nearly caving but ideally wanna save up for it as my ideal starting Switch 2 bundle would be with Mario kart, bravery default remaster, donkey Kong

I'm having possible slight regrets, ha.

MK World is more of the same and original Switch games certainly run better BUT it almost feels too big and I was hoping Nintendo would add more apps/functionality i.e. Netflix etc which is a shame they haven't - also YouTube/Twitch don't seem to work either. None of the other games appeal to me either, Yakuza 0 would've been cool but I've only recently completed it and can't face doing it again. I really hope publishers can/will rerelease their older games as presumably the Switch 2 could play them now (Outer Worlds, Resident Evil 2&3 etc).

Good news is I've finally completed Super Mario Sunshine a cool 23 years after it was released.

I also fired up WRC 10 and it's funny just how poor it looks, absolutely no depth or graphical clout. The Switch could really do with a quality racer.

I did note that in the Sleep Mode Settings there's an option for "Auto-Sleep (Playing Media Content)" - which suggests to me that media apps are coming.

It's early yet, so hopefully older games will get an update in time, just a resolution and quality increase should be easy enough. Do wish Nintendo would have inproved the ergonomics on the joy cons as they get uncomfortable after a while.

I've seen Dbrand has a fix for that which ads grips to the joy cons and acts as a hard case. It's a bit pricey but it looks perfect for what I want, and it still allows you to remove the joy cons as normal.

Yeah I think I'll need to get something else to add to the ergonomics like I did iwth Switch 1 - the Killswitch looks the obvious candidate just now

If you run a Switch 1 game on your Switch 2 while in handheld mode, will it run the game in docked performance mode now?
It'd be nice if they did something like this but from the few titles I've tried that don't have Switch 2 updates, it just mirrors the original experience. Makes sense for compatibility I suppose.

There does seem to be some improvement although haven't seen a deep dive.

Even if its just less dynamic resolution scaling and less frame drops I'd be happy.

Probably easier to mirror the old experience as the console is either docked or not. But if Nintendo could add an option you could toggle on a per-game basis in case of compatibility issues to run Switch 1 games that haven't had a Switch 2 update to use the docked profile in handheld mode, that would be great.

Even if developers never update it, at least you should get a bit of a resolution and maybe quality bump.
