*** The Official Nintendo Switch 2 ***

Oh nice, free Splatoon 3 Switch 2 upgrade with new weapons and classic stage included is coming on Thursday.

I've got 300+ hours in Splatoon 2 and have 3 on the way, good timing!

and a new Splatoon spinoff game coming in the near future too

LOL and this comes back to what I said just a little earlier that Nintendo definately has content coming (either Switch 2 exclusives, or Switch 2 exclusive upgrade content) that we just don't know about yet.
Knowing Nintendo, and looking at how they treated the Switch 1 across its life, they probably have a hell of a lot they're just literally sitting on; and waiting for the right time (as far as they're concerned) to reveal. They did quite a few short notice, or even shadow drops, during Switch 1's life. The only things you really got longer term notice on was the 3rd party stuff, and even then there were quite a few 'oh btw' there as well.

A true next gen Animal Crossing would be a massive system seller, after the success of New Horizons as well I think.
The only downside of the above is that Splatoon is made by the same team, so unless the spinoff game has been developed by a smaller team, that's not going to appear for a while.

And that in itself is almost worth the price of entry.
Yes, there are issues with the fact many games are locked at particular resolutions, but the fact most games will now run locked at thier framerate targets (when lets be honest the Switch 1 was well past it in that regards), is a massive upgrade.

I have a huge Switch library, much of which I've not played yet or finished, and I will definately be almost entirely restarting the entire lot due to just how much some games are improved; and I've been majorly distracted with other systems etc recently anyhow.

How to fix the switch 2's washed out hdr

The color contrast looks so much better on my TV now

Tldr:

* Set TV to use HGIG, not DTM

* Set Switch 2 to use HDR only in compatible software

* Then Set HDR brightness as per the console's normal instructions

* Lastly, lower the HDR white/mid point in the hidden HDR menu to reach desired color contrast

Also make sure the RGB Limit Range is matching on TV and Console, a lot of people choose the wrong setting because they prefer it miss-matched as it can look more saturated and high contrast but it crushes the blacks.

Edit -

Also, setting correct white balance is very important, it's another option that initially people don't like as they are used to very cool or DAZ WHITE's but that isn't realistic or true to life, and it doesn't conform to standardised industry calibration, which for white balance is actually around 5600k, it can look a little warm at first but when you adjust and switch back you'll see what I mean, it's a lot more natural, if you take note of whites in and around your environment you'll find it almost imposable to find pure bright white.

Thanks for this. I knew the HDR settings were all over the place and completely forgot I had to extra things on the LG TV when setting up the PS5.

Loving BotW but goodness me the degradation mechanics still annoys me but managed to get further than I ever did on the Lite and have now actually worked out cooking, armour sets etc. Time to nail down dodging and parrying as my timing is b.a.d.

Get the master sword. It still breaks, but recharges after 5 or so minutes iirc
Aye, that's gonna requires some significant shrine blagging and currently I'm getting done by every guardian type as my fighting skill is atrocious. Oh, and the motion control shrines are utterly gash; something must be up with it as I'm having to contort my entire body, bend over, spin around, look at the handheld upside down etc. No chance.

From what I recall, if you arent holding the switch in the correct horizontal position when you enter the shrine it goes badly wrong. It resets its position I think when starting the shrine.

Oh. OK. I confess, of the very few shrines I've come across that needed motion controls, I just hook the console out of the dock. I guess the vertical position is the start point, no wonder why I'm kinda laying on the floor or doubled over!

I didn't think these were as readily available to pick up a wee on from launch. Obviously they were prepared in terms of getting supply sorted beforehand.

It is probably a combination of good supply chain, the hardware were locked years ago so it has been in production for a long time.
