*** The Official Nintendo Switch 2 ***

For those of you with an Xbox or PS how do you decide which platform to get cross platform games on? I'm thinking of ditching Xbox next gen and going with the PS6 so I feel like I should just use it for game pass games and any bought games should be on the Switch 2. The graphics and speed of the Switch 2 are fine now for most games.

Whichever platform offers the best gaming experience. It is a bit of a no-brainer currently, as the PS5 Pro is the best of the current bunch for the foreseeable future. I haven't turned on my SX for months; I should probably sell it, but it is the first Xbox I've ever owned.

I prefer the Dual Sense controller and PS5 over the Xbox generally so will usually favour that regardless even if the Xbox version might be slightly better.

But between Switch and PlayStation it depends on the game, the portability makes the Switch really handy. Was staying at my mums for a week a while back and really enjoyed having Subnautica to hand even though I own it on multiple platforms already.

Switch 1/2 is great, but for me it really is a Nintendo player primarily but glad to see decent third party support.

Well I joined Team scratched screen. I don't even know when or how it would have happened as it never left the house and has been in the dock about 95% of the time. It's a light enough mark that it's only visible at an angle with the screen off but annoying none the less. Meanwhile my well travelled Steam Deck is still in tip top shape.

Depends if game is in GamePass or PSN Plus.

I get the game on the Switch for portability.

If you're predominately a console gamer, I don't see any point going with Xbox since Playstation has all the games ( 1st party exclusives, 3rd party and Xbox titles ). Plus, at the moment, the PS5 Pro is the most performant device. For me, the only positive thing about Xbox is having access to Game Pass, but it's value has declined over the last 18 months or so ( yes, it had a purple patch lately with Indiana Jones, Expedition 33, Doom ... but I doubt it can sustain that momentum ) and subscription costs are only going to increase.

EG gone really downhill, thats just a wall of text with adverts. At least put each game under a heading so we can focus on the ones we care about. lazy writing.
To be fair, I get zero adverts with that link when using Firefox with the obligatory ad blockers enabled. There's a DF video link in the middle of it though with time stamps to quickly skip to the game you're interested in (currently only a handful worth the effort, Mario Odyssey and Zelda Links Awakening / Echoes).

I installed Odyssey again after seeing it was upgraded. Was Wonder upgraded? Doesn’t appear to be from the articles I’ve seen.

This current round of consoles we decided to get all 3. The xbox was for gamepass ultimate in combination with our Legion Go and pc. I love the fact you can go from the pc to the console and viceversa.
In hindsight we could have skipped the xbox since we have pc's to play gamepass content. I like and hate gamepass though, like that some of the very good games get day 1 release, but hate how expensive the thing is.

I also hate the gamepass because Sony copied them and did their half arsed psn plus extra and premium that doesnt get day one games

For 3rd party games I made a mistake with the Switch 1, bought Crash tag team racing there thinking we would be going to friends and playing 4 people, but mostly we play docked at home just 2 people, and looks way worse vs the equivalent ps4 or xbox versions.
So it will depend on the game, but mostly Switch 2 will be used for 1st party and the occasional game that the mrs would want to play portably and is not on the Legion Go or plays better than that.

Otherwise 3rd party will be PS5 or PC (i like dual sense more than the xbox controller). Although that option to crossbuy between PC and Xbox (Xbox anywhere?) might tip the scales.

Currently looking into getting Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time and not sure where to get it, Steam (for the Legion Go mostly) or Switch 2.

Think I bought a Switch 1->2 upgrade for Zelda TOTK, and then subscribed to NSO + Expansion Pass. Pretty sure the upgrade comes with the pass - doh. Just a word of warning for anyone doing the same and wanting to save a tenner.

Yeah I just went for the game upgrades and didn’t bother with the expansion. I already pay for the normal NSO.
