I got Internet Connection Sharing working.
But my phone has developed a fatal problem - it won't charge the battery. The phone is working just fine, but plugging two diffferent chargers into it, plugging it into the PC with the USB cable, nothing whatsoever happens. The phone doesn't react and it won't charge. I bought a new battery thinking that may be the problem, but the problem remains. Anyone have any bright ideas ? Perhaps it is the mini-USB soecket on the phone that has broken internally. Zune doesn't detect a phone being connected, so this seems likely.
