Well my phone arrived back from Nokia, even though its the same screen and body, when they said it had been replaced, I get it back, charge it for awhile, and go to enter my MS mail to get my backup running, but no, I in put my email and password and get 0x80048823, and it says theirs a problem and it wont now sync my settings to my f'ing back up.

Each day, getting more and more disappointed.

That's not good news. :(

When I do can I move firmware to a sim free one and get updates faster?

No. Updates are tied the phones product code, if its a EE handset they will still be tied to EE firmware. You can flash generic firmware but it will still get updates via EE.

EilotG will be able to confirm 100%.

I am not surprised at them results to be honest, as for the value/performance of the handset nothing can compete with it.

It looks like my 920 has got stuck on the spinning cogs, was there a fix for this or is time to send it to Nokia.

Mine did it for 24 hours!

I think the main *fix* is just to let the battery run out. Seems to work for most people.

I've done that and its made no difference....

This looks like its fixed it. :D

Just go for it and get the whole lumia range, one for every occasion:)
Thinking about the 1020 myself (in yellow of course) is it worth it though if I'm a medium camera user? Also have u got the charging case for it and if so does it make the handset a bit too big?

Ha Ha. The 520 isn't mine to be honest, I bought it for my dad after he was having problems with a Samsung Android handset.

What I like most about the 1020 is its seems thinner and much lighter than the 920, I currently have a wireless charging cover on order which should arrive this week.

Also the matt body of the 1020 doesn't seem to get as greasy as the glossy body of the 920.

My favourite 3rd party Instagram at the moment is 6tag. However, I've not looked at Instance in a while now.

I know Barclays have stated there app's are due 2014.

One problem you are going to have is Google apps on my MS platform, this seem to be having a small disagreement at the moment.

I'd agree with the Nokia Maps, its a very underrated part of WP, it also gives you the ability to load the maps on to your device. So in area's of patchy signal, you'll still get map updates.

However, that said WP on the whole wont suit everyone. The Apps will come but its a case of waiting. WP is currently the fastest growing OS in the EU at present.

If you want apps though, buy a IOS device simple as really.

Impressive.

Financial Times today reported that Nokia is struck a deal with online video streaming provider Netflix to offer free subscription with Lumia Windows Phone 8 devices. Vodafone customers in UK will receive 1 year of free Netflix subscription along with their Lumia devices. More information on similar Netflix deals in other countries will be revealed soon.

FT reports that Nokia is mainly funding the subscription costs for this marketing program. Along with Vodafone, Phones4U is offering six months of Netflix on its range of Nokia devices which includes the Lumia 625, 925 and 1020. Also Vodafone is going to heavily support Nokia in advertising this Netflix deal Windows Phone devices.

Nokia is also planning for some trade-in programs where consumers will be able to bring their old digital camera to get Lumia 1020 at discounted price. I think it’s a great idea given the camera focus on the device.

No, its ms paying and devloping the app with skys permision if true.

However with wp8 taking marketshare in the eu, they should be making one. Theyre a provider, why providers dont take a note from amazon and probide for all platforms i have no idea or netflix. More platforms more money.

It's Sky, they are very pro Apple unfortunately everyone else gets a second rate experience at the moment.

However, on a side note its going to be interesting to see what happens in Germany over the coming months as WP "could" overtake iPhone in terms of market share as it has done in Italy. That's going to be really entertaining. :D
