The double tap feature in the amber update, is really handy! Also the onscreen clock doesn't really use too much battery, so I am going to leave it on for now.

Google does have an open policy, that's the issue.

But who cares, metrotube is great.

That clearly isn't so open. ;)

Also there is double standards on how the application is programmed to hand content, that's pretty much the short and curly's of it.

GDR3 looks to be a good update.

WMPoweruser

We have seen some reports in the past about the upcoming Windows Phone GDR3 update. Today, WPDang reported some new information about it. First, Microsoft is testing notification center in the beta version of GDR3 and the plans for GDR3 is not yet finalized. So, notification center may or may not be included in the final version.

And individual volume control between apps are coming to Windows Phone. This will allow you to setup volume level for music player, general system volume, etc,. individually. WPDang also reports about some new feature calling Quick Settings will be available on GDR3 update.

Based on previous reports, GDR3 will also include rotation lock, text message sync, driving mode and support for 1080p displays and the corresponding UI changes.

In the settings on the phone you go to backup and it saves all your contacts and apps to the cloud, after the flash you just restore from that and you get everything back, just have to redo the home screen tiles and the odd setting.

Was pretty painless, done mine twice now and colleagues once.

This is how I do mine as well. :D

Hmmm. Just had another update, looks like the OS and another firmware update.

Mines now running: FW: 3049.0000.1330.0009 OS: 8.010328.78

That doesn't seem right, I'll have to check that number tomorrow. Have you flashed your phone? If so, what with? I wouldn't have done...

Nope this was a OTA update.

My phone was running 3047.0000.1326.2008, as this one is a Vodafone handset.

Maybe for good reason, looking like Vodaphone might have rushed things a bit and is killing a few fair phones batteries.

Mines been fine, that's a Vodafone handset.

So So impressed with the L920 @ the moment, as for the first time I've replaced a point and click camera with it on holiday and its been fantastic. Its also survived a few drops, been in the water, been in the sand and its still working as good as gold.

Nice Panoramic View - Ibiza Town

I am going to upgrading to the 1020 / 1020 successor. :D

I thought about it, as I was thinking that maybe they would just bring a 1020 replacement out that was quadcore and 1080p, but then I thought it probably wouldn't be announced until MWC which will be too late for me so I guess Im getting a 1020 unless I go halfway and get the 1520 but I think that will be a tad too big for the pocket

I am pretty much sold on the 1020 personally, plus they make it in Yellow. :D
