**** The Official Note 4 thread ****

Thanks to both of you.

I was afraid that the phone would accept the update from 3 and install their branded rubbish.

I assume because I am running a BTU rom I will get the update direct from Samsung?.
 
Well....one step forward and several back.

Downloaded and managed to get a diffrent recovery on that allows me to install from sd card. That is the step forward.

The steps back are after wiping and factory reset am met with the wonderful lines of
'This package is for device: trltexx, trltedt; this device is trlte.' so am unable to flash the ROM and now have to reset my phone...again.

Will throw the stock ROM on again for now until I can get my hands on a ROM that will go on trlte N-910F

edit:- quick look under the hood with system info droid shows I have a Qualcomm APQ8084 SoC in there....time to find me a ROM that works with that. Things are never easy are they

Can someone please enlighten me why my phone asks which default app I would like to use, repeatedly? There's no point if it asks me over and over again, choosing "always" does nothing.

No idea, its just a massive TouchWiz annoyance. Can be removed Xposed & Wanam but that requires root.
 
Is the Note 4 still worth getting? I've got an upgrade available and as my HTC One M7 is dying I was thinking about the Note 4 as I enjoyed the Note 2 I had before.
It's either that or an S6 as the M9 just doesn't do it for me.

Definitely, just got my Note 4 (again) and sticking with it now, had most top end phones and the Note 4 beats them all for me, just bought Nova Prime Launcher along with some icon packs and the Note 4 flies along and looks amazing.

I too also loved my Note 2 :)
 
Yeah, but we're still talking October before it's easily available. Not sure my M7 is going to last that long.
 
Just upgraded to a Note 4 from a Xperia Z. So far so good, loving the sensitive stylus, great for drawing.

Can anyone recommend a decent case?

They scanned the bar code under the battery, asked me for my name and address and did a 'technical check' on the phone to see if it had been repaired by third party, rooted or water damaged and that was it.

Left it with them went for food, came back and it was done.
