**** The Official Note 4 thread ****

Back in my Note 2 days I seem to remember the ability to draw gestures on the screen. Quick command or something it was called. I can't find it on my Note 4. Does it still exist?

Not sure about this, but when the pen is taken out a small menu appears which enables you to take notes/memo's.

I have an issue where the screen sometimes stays dimmed even after locked. Would lock it using the side button, screen would switch off, then I'd put it in my pocket. Later when I take it out it is still locked but the screen is dimmed and not off for some reason.

Presumably this is draining the battery whilst in my pocket. Its inside a case then covers both surfaces so no chances of button presses in my pocket. Any ideas?

Still loving my note 4. Its a beautiful looking phone and so smooth and quick. Using an overclocked kernel to 3.1 ghz and it runs super fast although I usually just set it at a lower speed than that to save battery.

Can't remember if I have asked this already. Does anyone have a bug where after choosing Smart Select the first time, it won't select properly the second time? I have to choose something else and the Smart Select again for it to work.

No, I hope 5.1 fixes things. Switched 4G back on recently, even with battery saving mode on, it drains so fast. I know people have previously said battery life depends on lots of things/days will be different but I used to be able to last until nearly bed time when I first got this phone. Not a chance now. Tempted to sell this and my S4 to get the Note 5 if the supposed battery stats are true, I am sick to death of constantly having to think about my battery.

Can't say I've had any battery issues in a while. Between 8am and 6.30pm, I usually have about 65% battery remaining and that's with a moderate amount of Whatsapp usage, and the odd bit of browsing/Google Play Newsstand. By the time I got to bed at around 1am, I'm usually sitting on about 25-30%.

No one else getting the whatsapp pop up on screen notification? Impossible to turn off unless you disable all notifications - but then you don't even know when you've received a message. It's the most annoying thing about lollypop imo. My brother has a Note 4, same on his. My mate has a Note 4, same on his as well. I'm certain everyone on LP must be getting this issue with whatsapp, maybe some people like it? :/

What I'm averaging :)

How the Jiminy Cricket did you manage that? :eek::eek:

Can you give some more details please? How much of that was web browsing? Do you have any social media apps, battery/wakelock apps?

:D

3 Push Email accounts syncing, whatsapp, mostly browsing & playing around, installing / un-installing apps, texting & some short calls etc... Also running Nova Launcher Prime & a custom icon pack.

I reckon, purely on web browsing alone I could get approx 10hrs SOT without any standby time, I use about 10% battery per 1hr of browsing.

As I upgraded to LP the moment I first bought the phone, I then factory reset before I started using it, that may help? Those stats are also only from the 2nd or 3rd charge :)

That's ridonkulous! :eek::D

I lose 1% every couple of minutes browsing, it is a huge drain (UC Browser). Which browser do you use?

I have seen people mention factory resetting, might give it a try. I have also wondered if Apex could be a factor, lots of people seem to use Nova.
