**** The Official Note 4 thread ****

If you seeing the moaning/posting I have done over the last year :p, certainly hasn't always been like this and this still could be one of those "good days" proceeded by a week of poor battery. For some reason I seem to be more unlucky than others with battery/SOT, particularly since LL (on my S4 and Note 4). Settled down a little since my earlier post; 4 hours SOT with 38% left but Android OS took over the top spot from the Screen earlier this afternoon - it's been awake for over 5 hours which might require some investigating.

Edit - 4 hours 35 with 30% left.

Hi,

Can someone please help me with my Samsung galaxy note 4, I have this black screen notification that pops up everytime I open or do anything on my phone. It shows the time and at the bottom it says you have opened this cover this number of times.it is extremely annoying especially when making a phone call. I don't know how to get rid of it.

Can someone please help?

Yasmin

It's truly bizarre how varied the battery can be.

Are you in the same place today as you usually are when you get the poor battery performance?

All I've been able to track it down to is the belief that the Note 4 is just really susceptible to weak network signal strengths. Far more so than any other phone I've used in recent years.

Was it in a case? I only put mine in a case when I take my phone out with me and so fav iv never damage or dropped any phone I have. Especially with an expensive phone like the note 4 id never take it out without a case.

How much would you even get for a Note 4 with a damage camera?

Personally I'd get it fixed. Keep untill when the SD 820 processor starts to make an appearance.

The only reason you should want to upgrade is better camera (and that's at a push better on s6)

Was thinking the same... until i saw the G4 for £300 this morning on Rakuten... pulled the trigger....

I know its a sideways move in a lot of ways but combined with Touchwiz drama the camera bit pushed me over the edge... I change my phones every six months, guess its time to give LG a shot!

Cheers for the feedback guys!

Yeah, live in SW London and work in central. One of the biggest drains for me previously was browsing the Internet (not using 4G). It would drop like a stone. I managed 7 hours of SOT, battery ran out when I fell asleep in bed. Amazed. Please don't be a fluke!

no problem dude, enjoy the G4, great price at £300

you will be back:D,

Is there an app that can unlock the phone like the One Plus Two (swipe to unlock rather than wake the phone and then unlock)?

EDIT - does anyone know what the Multi Window service is? I can't get it to work and think it's Package Disabler but can't find a service that seems related.

I was wondering how many here actually use something like a custom overclocked Kernel?

Iv been using one overclocked to 3.07 and it does make quite a difference. You get more heat of course but after about 30 updates the heat is much reduced now and it feels so fast. Also The battery usage is much improved aswell with this custom kernel which is great. Of course you don't have to run it at full speed as I run it at the default a lot too and in between but its nice to have the speed there.
